In A Shocking Turn Of Events, OnlyFans Will Be Pivoting AWAY From Porn In The New Year

Source - OnlyFans is reportedly looking to raise new funding in a deal that values the company at more than $1 billion — and says it wants to shed its reputation as a platform for porn.

The London-based company, which is currently mostly used by adult-movie stars to sling smutty pics and videos, wants the help of mainstream backers who can help it to appeal to a wide range of celebrities and athletes, Bloomberg reported Thursday.

Hosting more mainstream content on its platform could also help attract premium advertisers.

Have you ever heard the saying, "if it ain't broke. don't fix it?" Because that's exactly what's happening here. The people at OnlyFans are tinkering with a formula that works. They brought in 400 million on $2 BILLION in sales of porn and porn only, yet for some reason they want to pivot away from that. And for what? Mainstream advertisements? I'm not pretending to know their business plan, it just seems like a bizarre move. They're essentially turning their platform into Cameo. Then again, I have literally zero idea what I'm talking about so it could be genius.

Despite the company’s impressive numbers, OnlyFans may have trouble attracting investment from traditional venture capital investors. Venture capital firms often have agreements with investors that prevent them from investing in “vice” industries including porn, alcohol, firearms that they worry can harm their reputation.

So there you have it- it's all about the money. Which ironically enough is the exact reason why 99.9% of people on OnlyFans have an account. I would start one if I knew I could make a decent living, but I feel like no one would subscribe. Once you've seen one dick you've seen em all. Oh well. It'll be interesting to see how they make the switch and if they actually even go through with it. Time will tell, queens.
