Brandon Walker and I Visited the Coolest Sports Memorabilia Store in America

One of the things we kept hearing from people around town here in Omaha that we had to do was visit Stadium View Sports Cards. It's a tiny little shack just outside downtown that you'd easily drive right past if you didn't know what you were looking for. Naturally with Brandon Walker's affinity for sports memorabilia, he and I made the trip Wednesday and let me tell y'all: it certainly overdelivered on any expectations we could have had.

We were greeted by the owner, Gregory Pivovar, as we walked in and were offered our choice of an ice cold beer or soda. After we got our drinks, we started scouring the store for whatever we could find. I wouldn't describe it as the most organized place in the world, but that's what made it even more fun. Every lap around the place, you'd see something new. And there was anything you could ever imagine: cards, pennants, gloves, posters, tickets, you name it.

Having now made my first trip to the College World Series, I would classify this as a must-do event for anyone with any sort of appreciation for baseball and I would now make Stadium View a required part of the trip. It's just an awesome place that really embodies Omaha. You have to walk through the store to really get a feel for how special it is, but I tried to capture as much of the essence of it as I could.

And it's things like this that make the College World Series such a cool and unique event. I've been to a Final Four and I honestly think Omaha blows that out of the water. The feel is just so unique and it's because of places like Stadium View.

I made out like a bandit with some Tennessee Sports Illustrateds and some Braves cards. Brandon even made us stay so long the local news eventually showed up and wanted to talk to him as well as the owner.

I can't even tell y'all how awesome Omaha, Nebraska is in June. I will never miss a CWS that Tennessee is playing in for the rest of my life. Come out to Omaha and definitely go let Piv get you a cold beer at Stadium View.
