A Secret Marilyn Monroe Nude Scene Has Been Discovered

Source – A nude scene long believed lost featuring Marilyn Monroe in John Huston’s The Misfits has been re-discovered. The footage, cut from the film by Huston, was previously believed to have been destroyed.

Author Charles Casillo … interviewed Curtice Taylor, son of Misfits producer Frank Taylor, and learned that he has kept the footage in a locked cabinet since his father’s death in 1999.

In a love scene with Clark Gable, Monroe dropped the covering bed-sheet and exposed her body. It would have been one of the first – if not the first – nude scenes by an American actress in a major production in the sound era of film if it had made it into the final version. …

Director John Huston refused to include the nude scene, allegedly because he felt it was unnecessary to the story. But Frank Taylor believed that it was important and so ground-breaking that he saved it.

The Misfits … was Monroe’s final film before her death.

What will become of the found footage has not been decided, Curtice Taylor said.

This is just further proof, as if we needed it, of how mercilessly harsh and cruel human existence is.

You cannot underestimate how valuable a Marilyn Monroe nude scene would have been back in 1961. No other woman in human history has been as lusted after as she was by those Greatest Generation guys. Around the time The Misfits came out, the men who fought World War II were in their mid-40s. They’d conquered tyranny, rebuilt Europe and Japan, came home, made babies and made America the envy of the world. And porn for those guys was practically non-existent. So they jerked off to the very thought of seeing Marilyn Monroe’s nipples. They lived vicariously through Joe DiMaggio when he married her. And Jack and Bobby Kennedy because they knew they were London Bridging her in the White House on the regular. And because of the actions of one or two selfish men, they were denied what for them would’ve been their generation’s Phoebe Cates’ Ridgemont High pool scene (SFW), Sharon Stone crotch shot (SFW) or Kim Kardashian sex tape (I won’t bother) all rolled into one. Even if this was end-of-the-line, pill-addicted, bloated Marilyn, in her Fat Elvis stage of life, just before she OD’ed. It still would’ve been priceless to those guys.

And when do we find out this clip exists? When the only people still fascinated by Marilyn Monroe are women and gay white men. When the generation who were denied her nudity all these years are standing in their own graves. When you have a device in your pocket that gives you instant access to roughly 10 million women way better looking than her committing all sorts of acts of depravity. And why? Because someone decided to play god with other men’s lives and decided they didn’t deserve to see the woman they wanted to bang more than any other naked.

It’s sad and it’s cruel and those of you who built this country and have been denied the Marilyn Monroe nude scene you earned deserve better. On behalf of our nation, I apologize for the selfishness of these terrible men.
