Should The League Intervene To Let Us In The Playoffs?

un

A couple months ago we posted a blog with Hank Steinbrenner complaining about how the Yankees got screwed out of the playoffs because of the way the playoffs are set up.   At the time I made fun of him for being an idiot.  Well I’m not laughing anymore.    Honestly there needs to be an asterix next to this year’s Superbowl Champion because they didn’t go through us and we’re as good and as hot as anybody in the league right now.    And 11-5 should get you in the playoffs every single year.   That’s how the founding fathers intended it to be.   It’s just not fair that the Cardinals, Eagles and either Broncos or Chargers will be in the post season and we won’t.   The league has to take a hard look at this and figure out a solution to rectify this problem.   And I’m not talking about for the future either.  I’m talking about right fucking now!  I don’t know whether that means declaring us the winner of the AFC East or creating a new playoff spot or what?  But rules are made by human beings and human beings can break them when they spot an injustice and this is a friggin injustice.   Seriously if the NFL wants this post season to be taken seriously then Goodell has to figure something out.   If not this will just be like when the US boycotted the 1980 Olympics games.  It will tarnish the entire competition because everybody knows they didn’t beat the best of the best.   Is that what the country wants?

Simple solution. Have the Pats replace the Cardinals in the NFC playoffs. They can then walk through the cream puff NFC and head straight to the Super Bowl, where (hopefully) they can make Peyton Manning cry again. Works for me.

dekezucker, Dec 24 2008, 1:35 pm

whine much?

Guess the regular season does matter, huh?
See you next year

IplayPong, Dec 24 2008, 1:35 pm

After the Jets beat the Phins and we take care of business against the Bills, it won't matter.

sbloombe, Dec 24 2008, 1:36 pm

Dolphins are going to win the Division, they might not make it far in the playoffs but the Phins are going to stomp the Jets, favre will retire, and the pats will be at home on the couch and will have missed the playoffs.

Grip and Rip, Dec 24 2008, 1:36 pm

wow the crying and pouting never stops here.

TheViking, Dec 24 2008, 1:36 pm

simpler solution..don't get blown out by the fucking chargers and fins, or lose to the shitty jets.
and maybe try to play some defense.

derekio, Dec 24 2008, 1:39 pm

Frank Viola, Dec 24 2008, 1:41 pm

or asterisk.....i suck

Frank Viola, Dec 24 2008, 1:41 pm

It isn't unfair. First of all you aren't 11-5 yet, and even if you end up that way some of those 5 losses ended up being pretty important. No record guarantees you a spot. Well I guess 16-0 does, but that's beside the point.

Villapiano, Dec 24 2008, 1:43 pm

Pats win, they get in. Either Balt or Miami will lose. Miami still has to play in the cold which they never have been good at (ie. warm weather teams in cold weather places) and Jax will put up a fight against a Balt team that had a huge win last week. If Garrard can stay away from the mistakes they have a chance. Santa needs to bring us a miracle.

Merry Christmas el pres and the rest of the BSS crew.

Scrizroll93, Dec 24 2008, 1:43 pm

Pres,

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/09/23/2008-09-23_hank_steinbrenner_rips_divisional_playof.html

You have officially lowered yourself to Hank Steinbrenner's level. That is pathetic.

ccpopper, Dec 24 2008, 1:45 pm

Ricky Williams palys well in the cold.

trapp32, Dec 24 2008, 1:49 pm

F you prez and your stupid asterick - why don't you just win 8 in a row and steal back a derseving playoff spot like the Colts did.
Have fun watching the playoffs losers.

vinagahpeppahz, Dec 24 2008, 1:58 pm

Hey Craig (trapp32)

Your so called all-star handicapper Michael Alexander is a whopping 1 - 4 in Bowl picks so far.....way to go.

milemarker0, Dec 24 2008, 2:03 pm

yea pres good idea lets change the entire NFL playoff system because now it seems unfair? fans like you cause the patriots to have a bad rep. shut up.

dmarks, Dec 24 2008, 2:13 pm

If the Pats won 12 games. They'd be in the playoffs numbnuts. Leave the whining to Cowboy fans after they fall in the playoffs again. Take it like a man.

SweetArse, Dec 24 2008, 2:19 pm

No, the Pats don't deserve to make the playoffs just because they are 11-5. You had a cake schedule this year, suck it up and win 12.

WesWelker, Dec 24 2008, 2:27 pm
ShadyLady, Dec 24 2008, 2:29 pm

El Pres you continue to prove yourself to be the most pathetic person on the face of the earth. Stop crying about the fourth best team in Boston. Considering their schedule which had to be the easiest in the history of the NFL and coming off an 18-1 season they should probably lose a draft pick if they do not make the playoffs. The great thing, if the Dolphins win, is this pathetic schedule is what ended up biting them in the ass because the Dolphins are not an 11-5 team either.

Courtsdad, Dec 24 2008, 2:30 pm

wow...would you really be complaining if it was the patriots who were 8-8 in a joke division and were going to the playoffs? Would you really propose kicking the pats out of the playoffs?

kevin9188, Dec 24 2008, 2:31 pm

hey trapp, you always make the same kind of stupid, generic comment on every fucking blog post. stop promoting your site, it is really stupid.

if you were any kind of a real handicapper you would be operating out of Vegas, not pathetically trying to promote some shitty website on barstoolsports.

please stop, nobody here wants to look at your site.

Marino's Fake Spike, Dec 24 2008, 2:48 pm

Way off base Prez. Who have the Pats beaten? They got beat by every playoff team they faced with the exception of Denver (they look good). The Pats have nobody to blame but themselves. By missing the playoffs the Pats wont be embarrassed by Pitt/Indy/Tenn.

They are getting off easy.

ricostl, Dec 24 2008, 2:56 pm

Would it be like this?

* = This team didn't beat the Superbowl CHOKE ARTISTS from last year (mainly because they suck and couldn't win a division that contains the dolphins and jets)

theCount, Dec 24 2008, 2:57 pm

Prez,

Stop putting it on the tee for the NY fucking blowhards. If we don't make it we don't make it. We'll get the full squad back and get back at it. I ain't mad.

Soog, Dec 24 2008, 3:07 pm

Hank made better points than prez, sorry.

Hank is a douche bag it seems, but hes usually got a valid point. like when chen-tiny Wong got hurt running the bases in houston...WHY DO PITCHERS STILL BAT IN THE MLB

Weezy Baby, Dec 24 2008, 3:12 pm

If they could have just proven themselves by taking care of the other playoff teams in the regular season they wouldn't have this problem. They're 11-5 because they play a shitty schedule.

IceMachine, Dec 24 2008, 3:14 pm

playoffs or no playoffs 11-5 for a team with this many injuries is a successful season. Brady and the gang will be back for another run at an undefeated regular season and another ring so relax and stop bitching. And about moving the Pats to the NFC for a cakewalk, you really think we are better then the Giants and Panthers right now, you are crazy.

bigticket21, Dec 24 2008, 3:30 pm

Giants have the 20 hardest schedule. Pats have 29th. Titans have 23rd hardest schedule. Steelers have 3rd hardest.

Fuck all you NY fucks. Miserable Christmas to you all.

Soog, Dec 24 2008, 3:44 pm

I hate the Pats but it really is BS if they go 11-5 and don't make it. Whoever doesn't get it out of the Jets, Phins, and Pats has a right to be real pissed.

ooogoooood, Dec 24 2008, 4:14 pm

I know Dolphins and Bills are gonna get fucked this Sunday. So relax, things eill be just fine.

hadroncollider, Dec 24 2008, 4:22 pm

Bone Thugs, Dec 24 2008, 4:28 pm

The Giants beat Pitt, kthxbye

CoachBombay, Dec 24 2008, 4:29 pm

Stop whining Prez. It's not flattering.

As much as I want them to make the playoffs, I don't think that it's going to happen this year.

As a very wise man once said... "It is what it is."

3efin, Dec 24 2008, 4:35 pm

Typical!!!!
Stop your bitching, you NE fans are whiny lil bitches. The NFL playoff system is in perfect working order. If your team can't even win their division, maybe they don't deserve to make the playoffs. Sucks for the Pats that their division isn't so weak. Good Luck with your bitching campaign.
Loyal Reader
GO CHARGERS!

daveidunno619, Dec 24 2008, 4:43 pm

You make me want to hate Boston sports. Unfair? Are you on crack? The Pats had the EASIEST schedule in the league(based on the most widely accepted way of calculating that).

They lost to the J E T S, led by brett 'interception machine' favre. Sure, they may be 11-5 but the schedule was a joke. Why do you think AZ won so many games? Look who they play! And talking about the Pats recent win streak??!?!?!? AZ, Oak, Seattle...WOW, those are some great teams! We got BLOWN OUT...AT HOME....by the 'offense-less' Steelers.

Its just not our year. STOP BITCHING YOU STUPID FUCK....or start rooting for all things New York.

GJROCKET21, Dec 24 2008, 4:52 pm

This was like a train wreck...Absolutely awful but I can't turn away!

Angieclaire, Dec 24 2008, 5:04 pm

They could eliminate the divisions, just have 2 conferences, and the top 6 from each go to playoffs, or have no conferences and just have the top 12 go to playoffs, or top 16, or everyone can go and just have it be a shitshow like march madness, or we should just lube up some dildos and decide a champ the old fashioned way....

dildo sword fight.

BarstoolHokie, Dec 24 2008, 5:48 pm

Prez, I got two words for ya right here: Boo Hoo.

WestCoastBro, Dec 24 2008, 6:11 pm

While we are changing the rules.. I think after the clock winds down The losing coach has to bend over and get spanked by the winning coach. This would change everything. No more hugfest/prayer sessions between the teams. Just supreme humiliation, and great TV. Either that or he fucks him up the ass.

KennethSimsWhipKick, Dec 24 2008, 10:33 pm

I liked the days when the Patriots were the laughing stock of the league!! Now just because you guys cheated to win a few superbowls and are used to winning, you whine like little bitches if things dont go your way!!
What a joke!

PatsSckDck, Dec 25 2008, 11:29 am

Prez I expect better than this man. The pats split games vs. two divison teams...man up and admit it that its a tough race at the end of the season.

and quit your bitching about an asteric next to this years champs, the super bowl is going through NJ, th defending champs are in the post season I don't know who you're talking about. grow up dick, stop being a local yocal fan.

Schubie-do-b-do, Dec 26 2008, 12:04 am

So I guess at 15-0 leading up to last year's Super Bowl the Pats should have been given the Lombardi Trophy too? Quit whining. Maybe if they hadn't gotten blownout by Miami and lost to the Jets at home (two very winnable games) they wouldn't be in this situation.

DeepFreez, Dec 26 2008, 8:14 am

I didn't hear you say any of this shit when the Browns went 11-5 last year!

Neil, Dec 28 2008, 9:32 pm

BWAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Its like Christmas came twice for the entire country! Nice 11-5 CHOKE JOB there, faggots!

Enjoy losing Matt Cassell and having a hobbled Brady back at QB. Oh, and Randy Moss is due for his scheduled locker-room blowup again. GOODBYE TEAM CHEMISTRY!!!

Terpskins99, Dec 28 2008, 9:35 pm

El Prez - What the fuck. Who is buying your shirts? The way you put these fucking meatballs up for New Jersey high school kids to tee off on makes me think you want them around because they are clicking on your porn ads or something. The Pats did not get in. Someday the shoe will be on the other foot. The Pats went 11-5 without Brady, Maroney, Thomas, Harrison and a bunch more. That's fucking awesome. This season is like night and day compared to the days when the Sullivans ran this team. I say take the extra month off that they have not had since 2002, work on adding a few more guys on defense, figure out whether Brady's going to be back in time, and get back to business for 2009. They are not going to get devastated by injuries like this again for a while.

When you posts like this up it makes me think you don't remember the 80's. This is a great team that has some good years left in it. There's nothing to bitch about here. Jauron just got a contract extension so there's nothing to worry about there, the Jets went through a $140 million makeover that has produced a 3rd place finish. Pats just need to beat the Fish next year, peak a the right time like they often do, and save up some money over the summer for next years fines that Goodell will pass down on a completely inconsistent basis - everything will be fine.

Belichick could use the extra few weeks of off-time and I'd bet the players can too, they have played a lot of games in January and February the last 10 years.

BigKing, Dec 28 2008, 9:42 pm

At least Hank's squad is in a good division. AFC East is shit. The friggin Jets would have won the thing if they hadn't lost to awful NFC West teams. And New England lost to awful Favre at home and made him look like Brady.

Nabo Sucks, Dec 28 2008, 9:42 pm

No Patriots, no Cowboys..
I bet the flags at the ESPN offices will be at half mast tomorrow.
who will they anoint to slurp on for the next 2 weeks

derekio, Dec 28 2008, 9:43 pm

Neil the Browns went 10-6 last year.

BigKing, Dec 28 2008, 9:44 pm

People have been saying that about Randy for the last two years. They said the same thing about Corey Dillon. Hasn't been an issue.

BigKing, Dec 28 2008, 9:46 pm

Regardless of what happened this season, ESPN will be all over Favre by the second week of February, breathlessly waiting for an answer about whether he will play next year. There are two people who play in the NFL who will never be responsible for a loss Manning and Favre. They don't lose, their teammates just don't let them win.

BigKing, Dec 28 2008, 9:48 pm

as much as it sucks to not be playing next saturday night because lets face it we would obviously be best suited for the NFL and their primetime slot...bottom line is we lost 3 home games and even with our injuries that is unacceptable by playoff standards...the dolphins will be poor afc east representatives and you cant be anyhting but happy with the way the team performed

townoftitles88, Dec 28 2008, 9:51 pm

Never mind Mangyncunt, whoever brought Favre in should go.

rearadmiral, Dec 28 2008, 9:52 pm

bigking is all over the place and on fire tonight...are you big daddy smooth?? no, i expect he is blacked out somewhere right now.

and derekio, good point about espn. if the colts hadnt made the playoffs they would probably close up shop and wait til after the superbowl to talk about farve.

and the afc is not a weak division, comparibly, 38 wins = 9.5 average per team.

Weezy Baby, Dec 28 2008, 9:56 pm

Bottom line is this... My Baltimore Ravens won and knocked you out of the playoffs. If the Patriots wanted to make the playoffs then maybe they should of beaten more than one (Miami, and no, the cardinals dont count) playoff teams this season. Its a shame that 'ElPresidente" and the rest of you Boston Homos bitch about shit like this when its your own teams fault for not winning games. Besides, your defense was horrible and your ground game was downright miserable, so you never would of even made it to the superbowl. Lets not forget that Wes Welker is the most overated receiver in the game. If it wasnt for Moss getting so much attention he would average 3 catches a game. Pro Bowl my ass.... Hey BOSTON, STOP BITCHING

ECsFinest, Dec 28 2008, 9:57 pm

EC check the stats on the offense one more time, This team had a juggernaut offense and the run game was a strong point considering it was provided by a number of guys BJGE, morris, faulk, and jordan...and for welker being overrated might be the single dumbest comment EVER...eat a cock

townoftitles88, Dec 28 2008, 10:02 pm

Agreed on the defense but the running game was fine. And Welker's not overrated at all, the Pats got him for nothing, that usually indicates teams aren't placing much value on him. I'd say that considering what it has cost them he's more than living up to it.

BigKing, Dec 28 2008, 10:02 pm

They are 6th in the league in rushing yards, 4.4 YPC. Nothing wrong with that. And that's without their starter, who happens to be their least productive RB - but whatever.

BigKing, Dec 28 2008, 10:04 pm

Man, this was the difference of the year right here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghmVMeMJgw8

Terpskins99, Dec 28 2008, 10:21 pm

Hey El Pres, "you" did not do anything nor have any effect on the Patriots game or the Jets game. Your use of "we" is so sad and pathetic. It's meant for those that actually participate in the game. You watch the game. Enough with the "we" garbage. I know your clientele is more than like 80% white trash with an iq of an eggplant and they love to talk about how "we" got so and so or how "we" had a big win, but its pathetic. Thanks.

cuse2001, Dec 28 2008, 10:32 pm

Pats fans need to get over themselves. Once again all your team had to do was win one of the 5 games they lost. To nobody outside of New England's surprise they didn't. This will be 4 staright years without winning when it counted. The NFL does not need you in the playoffs. they already have a team from the most important city in America.

guapodcole, Dec 28 2008, 10:50 pm

Terps
Plax, Plaxico Burress, yes we are talking about the same guy that shot himself talked shit about the Pats and Brady responded like any MVP on the most prolific offense in the game's history would by diregarding a dumb statement by an even dumber human being...we get it the Giants upset us most of us are over it...at the end of the day we know we are a better orgnaization than most in the nfl and will be back next yr... id love to see the giants insert david carr and win 11 games or any team for that matter insert a backup QB and win with such effectiveness says a little something about the players on that team...oh yeah we have a few other teams to hold us over until then too

townoftitles88, Dec 28 2008, 10:54 pm

Bosstone, that is the most retarded use of selective statistics I have ever seen on this board. Ever. What's magic about the four year window you are applying to determine relevance in football? Care to apply that to baseball? Of course not. And using your logic, there are only two teams that even mattered from 2001-2004, the Pats and the Bucs, everyone else was shit right because they didn't "win when it counted"?

For New York fans, the only thing that matters in football is THIS YEAR, 2008; and the only thing that matters in baseball is the 20th century, recent championships don't mean anything in baseball right, or basketball either.

And don't kid yourself saying that everyone outside New England knew the Pats would miss the playoffs, you're here because you are tired of watching teams from New England win, you know it and so does everyone else.

BigKing, Dec 28 2008, 10:59 pm

Best team in the NFL?
a) Sitting at home watching the Playoffs
b) If Belichik was such a high and mighty coach, he’d have found some way to win. Hell, I’m sure he’s some archived video footage somewhere.
c) If they were the best team, they would have won every game this season.
d) They weren’t even the best team in their division, or they would have won the damn thing.
e) QUIT BITCHING! QUIT MAKING EXCUSES!
f) At least there is hope with the Celtics (until the Lakers or Cavs kick their ass, too)

Tigger 41073, Dec 28 2008, 11:06 pm

at least we're not the broncos--first place all year then lose week 17 and dont make the playoffs.

at least we're not the cowboys--that would just suck.

and at least the celts absolutely dominated the JV queens tonight. that was nice.

Weezy Baby, Dec 28 2008, 11:26 pm

There is no irrationality like that of fandom. I'm just happy that Dallas lost (understatement on all counts).

Weezy Baby, Dec 28 2008, 11:43 pm

Hahaha. fucking patriots. what a bunch of losers. cant wait till the celtics get knocked out of the playoffs. and the bruins....talk about overachieving!! my fucking god.

what time is the patriots game next week?

merkinsports, Dec 28 2008, 11:44 pm

Why don't they just make it so that the 4 division winners get in, along with 4 wildcard teams. There's more teams in the NFL then there are in the NBA and NHL, so it's not like it wouldn't work. Shit you don't even have to extend the season any further, just eliminate the first round bye and then home field advantage means all the much more.

Have
8 vs 1
7 vs 2
6 vs 3
5 vs 4

More games = more revenue and best of all...

Teams that actually belong in the playoffs don't have to sit home and watch garbage teams get bounced out in the first round.

dynamo45, Dec 28 2008, 11:59 pm

Off topic but since the New York Times is trying to flog off its share of the Red Sox and Fenway Park why not organise a 'Buy Back the Park' group as they will sell it cheap. Fuck the Boston Globe is only worth one-tenth of itspurchase price so ten cents in the dollar sounds a fair price to me. Then drop the prices for the real fans because the newly poor ex-rich fucks can't afford their seats anymore.

Bring Fenway back to the people! I expect some free seats for my idea. :-)

Maybe there is something to that super bowl loser curse after all.
8 of the last 10 haven't made the playoffs the following season

derekio, Dec 29 2008, 12:34 am

hahahahaha, the Pats didn't even make the playoffs. I was hoping they would so they could get stomped by one of the good teams.

If it's any consolation then you can watch the Giants repeat this season. The Giants didn't start 5 players today and played the game like a preseason game (benchwarmers in the second half) and almost beat the Vikings if not for a last second 50 yd field goal. Meanwhile, Pats can't even make the playoffs...

Patriots suck...BAD.

WithLeather, Dec 29 2008, 12:54 am

Again with this? The league should not, and will not, intervene to "let the Pats in the playoffs." It's that whole "rules thing." Trade one of those meaningless wins for one of your division losses and you would have been in.

Villapiano, Dec 29 2008, 1:31 am

AW! You want a tissue?

elprez and all you other fuckes that agree -
that's the dumbest shit i ever heard, you sour ass pussy/ies...suck it the fuck up. You weren't good enough to win make the playoffs A.K.A. win enough games, so naturally you idiots bitch and cry with your "it's our right to win all the time, and god forbid when we don't it's horseshit ande a national travesty and everybody else is to blame". Get the fuck off your high horse and suck it the fuck up like everone else. Or don't, and continue to blame everyone from the league to the Chargers to Brady's knee to injuries, hell maybe even the fucking economy - and you'll give everyone else in the country more to laugh at you fools about.

Not making the playoffs is a good thing. The Patriots organization has a couple of extra weeks to prepare for the draft, and Patriots fans have a couple of extra weeks to go fuck themselves.

Stop it. Just stop it.

A totally planned, b.s. blog entry.

Typical Dennis & Callahan schtick.

Dirrty Water, Dec 29 2008, 6:15 am

Here's my mortal lock of the day Pats can go the f**k home! Quit your whinning the Dolphins are obviously a better team.

zinger, Dec 29 2008, 8:01 am

Dolphins in the playoffs... AFC East Division Winners. Patriots home in the cold.
Wildcat bitches, Wildcat! Why couldn't genius Bill Bellichick stop it? He'll have nightmares about Ronnie Brown all offseason, HAHAHAHA! Overrated coach. Tony Sparano is the new Sheriff in town.

"the Dolphins are obviously a better team."

the Dolphins won the division due to tiebreakers, nothing else. One 11-5 team cannot be that much better than another 11-5 team...

the Dolphins squeaked by the Raiders,Chiefs, 49ers, and Rams... I wouldn't do that much chest thumping.

Dirrty Water, Dec 29 2008, 8:23 am

hey urban's assplug, did you catch this game in Nov.?

Pathetic Dolphin fans always hold onto The most distant and faded memories. A week 3 game, overrated Marino, the ’73 team from back when they didn’t even play 16 games, etc.

dieclemensdie2, Dec 29 2008, 8:31 am

The Eagles and Chargers would smoke the Patriots. Eat a dick and enjoy watching the playoffs from the cheap seats. From the sounds of Brady's knee, you better get used to it. BAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWA

Neckbeard18, Dec 29 2008, 8:40 am

boo hoo. last time i checked, there were teams that had better records than the pats, so how could they be the best in the league. your team's run is over. get used to it. maybe if they could have won one more game this year, we wouldn't be having this lame conversation, but they couldn't and they are no different than the 0-16 lions, sitting home for the playoffs.

Agent47, Dec 29 2008, 9:16 am

Mangini just got fired

mystere213, Dec 29 2008, 9:17 am

neckbeard, you truly terrify me. Did you spend the weekend making yourself a girl suit, tucking your balls between your legs, playing with Precious and... well you know the rest.

CptKangarooBalls, Dec 29 2008, 9:32 am

EP, give it a rest. You're sounding like you got sand in the vagina. The Pats shouldn't have lost to the Colts, had they won there would be no bitching. Get over it. I'm going back to bed now. Fuck off haters!

CptKangarooBalls, Dec 29 2008, 9:46 am

Yeah, 11-5 with the easiest schedule in the league makes you the best of the best. But seriously, please keep whining because I really can't get enough of it. In fact, I think I'm gonna go back and read some old New England whining about the 18-1 Super Bowl being fixed. Keep up the good work, fuckos.

Remember back a couple years ago when the Patriots used to be good. They used to win Super Bowls. Then they stopped going to Super Bowls... then they stopped going to the playoffs. Wow, those are distant memories, HAHAHAHA!

Brett Favre and Eric Mangini Can Burn In Hell

eric

Can you believe that Brett Favre made the pro bowl? I mean he just put the coup de gras on what has to be the worst season by any QB in the history of the NFL who has started 16 games. It literally continues to amaze me how he even gets a spot on anybodies roster never mind gets to start games. Honestly I didn't think it was possible, but watching this game actually made me feel bad for Jets fans. Nobody should be forced to watch a team like that play on a week in and week out basis. It's like cruel and unusual punishment. I'd rather get my dick lit on fire then ever have to root for Brett Favre or the Jets again. It just shows you how spoiled we are in New England to have the best team and best coach in the league.

PS - As far as I'm concerned the playoffs don't count this year. We are clearly one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the NFL and I have no doubt we would have won the Superbowl. Seriously the rules are fucked up when an 11-5 team with the best QB in the league, the best offense in the league and playing great football down the stretch doesn't make the playoffs. It's never happened in this wild card format and it never should. It really makes you question the entire meaning of life.
