NY Giants Wide Reciever Shot in the Leg. This is Not a Repeat

(AP) New York Giants receiver Taye Biddle is recovering from gunshot wounds to his hand and leg after being shot while visiting family in his hometown. Decatur police said in a statement Thursday that Biddle was shot Sunday night outside a residence and was treated and released from a local hospital. Police said there was no evidence Biddle caused or provoked the shooting... Biddle was promoted from the Giants' practice squad after receiver Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg last November.... This, of course, is the third incident involving a Giants receiver and a gun in the last two months. On Nov. 25, Giants receiver Steve Smith was robbed at gunpoint outside of his Clifton, N.J. home. Three days later, Giants receiver Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the thigh in a Manhattan nightclub.
How pathetic. Honestly Taye Biddle, is this the best you can do? Taking a bullet in the thigh and the hand outside a family residence? C'mon. Being a NY Giants wideout means a lot more than that. It's a tradition and you're never going to live up to Big Blue's lofty standards with this weak cheese. Where's the drama? The self-importance of talking your way past the bouncers with a glock in your pants? The unexplained paranoia of needing the gun in the first place? The rightous indignation as you're forced to empty the gun in the back room? That's how a Giants' reciever gets shot. You were nothing more than a pistol range target, and how are you going to replace a legend like Plaxico Bullets like that? It's like when Will Ferrell left SNL and no one could replace his George W. Bush. If you can't do it like the guy you're replacing, shouldn't even try or else it's just sad. I know Plaxico Burress, and when it comes to taking lead in the leg, you sir are no Plaxico Burress.
