Paul Pierce Gives Away Celtics Tickets To Tonights Game Via Twitter

Paul Pierce meets Twitter users

Reader Email

This morning I received an email from a buddy saying that Paul Pierce (@paulpierce34) was now on Twitter and he was going to give away tickets to the first 5 fans to meet him at the player’s entrance of the Garden. The only catch was that you had to be wearing a Paul Pierce jersey, and you had to say the password, which was “Truth”.

From @paulpierce34

aight on my way to arena b there at 430 with my jersey players entrance free tiket to game only got 5 left hurry up passcode is truth

At first I wasn’t going to go, as I figured I’d be standing there with a couple other saps while someone took a picture of us and posted it on Twitter with the caption “Look at these suckers”. Not the case.

When I arrived there was already a group of five fans, which quickly grew to about ten. Almost exactly on the dot at 4:30, a Range Rover with California plates and tinted windows pulled up. The window rolled down and Paul Pierced asked us what the password was. Everyone shouted “Truth” and he started dishing out tickets.

It got slightly chaotic as there was no real line to get a ticket. The crowd just closed in on the Truth and people started reaching out for tickets. Luckily, I was able to score a ticket and will be heading up to the Truth’s suite in about an hour.

So if you were wondering, yes, Paul Pierce is on Twitter.

I don't fucking get it.   I really don’t fucking get it.  Like I said last week Twitter has gone from something I never heard of 2 weeks ago to on the verge of taking over the fucking world now.   And I’m still sitting here with a thumb up my ass yet to join the revolution.    I mean if Paul Pierce is giving away tickets via twitter to tonight’s game then I should at the very least be giving away free t-shirts every now and again.  Although on second thought I don’t want to cause a riot.  I mean imagine the chaos this would cause if people saw the Astrovan rolling down the street with free Straight Cash Homey shirts piled to the roof.  Bitches would get trampled and shit….

PS - I like the way Paul Pierce spells. My kind of guy

- Thanks to Mike for the great tip

El Pres “I Never Lose 8 In A Row” Mortal Locks

Ok so after losing two nail biters yesterday I’m on the threshold of doing the impossible.   That’s right.  Going 0-8 since the start of Sweet 16 round.   Now granted I’m still 16-14 in the tournament so if you took all of my picks from the beginning for a dime each you could still take the little lady to the Oak Room for a fancy steak dinner and have enough left over to buy a couple t-shirts so I’m not sure what all the bitching and moaning is about.  Sure, we had some tough breaks yesterday, but I say this with 100% confidence.   I’ve never lost 8 straight college hoop games in my life.    So get jacked and pumped because here comes to blowout winners from the Pres.  You can thank me tomorrow.

MSU vs. Louisville -5.5

I think Louisville wins this game.  I think Michigan State keeps it close.   Is this stupid?   I mean if I think Louisville is going to win should I assume they’ll hit enough free throws down the stretch to cover?    I don’t know what to think anymore.  Maybe this losing streak has gotten into my head after all.   Don’t think just throw…..I’m the one driving the astrovan…

The Pick – MSU

Oklahoma vs. NC -7

Finally a game that I love!    I’m going to put everything that I’ve lost on the last 6 games on Oklahoma here.   This is a flat out pickem for me.  Blake Griffin is too strong, too physical, and too mean for a pussy ACC team like North Carolina.    In fact, don’t be surprised if Griffin actually dunks Tyler Hansbrough during the course of this game just to prove a point and Hansbrough gets called for a foul.    Not only do I like OU to cover but I like them to win and join the rest of the Big East in the Final Four.     And hopefully after this tournament is over the NCAA will take a long and hard look at possibly stripping the ACC of their automatic bid to the conference tournament winner since clearly they don’t deserve it.

The Pick - OU
