The Most Electric Pitcher In Baseball Is Not Gerrit Cole, Corbin Burnes, Or Shohei Ohtani - It's Oakland A's Closer Mason Miller And It's Time Everyone Learns His Name

It's time we have a conversation about the most electric pitcher in all of baseball —Oakland A's closer Mason Miller. Now if you follow baseball intently you know who this kid is, but for the casual/barely paying attention person at home you're simply not going to be aware of a pitcher on the Oakland A's.

Right now the A's find themselves 8-11, basically 13-6 by their standards. They've won three of their last four series, which seems impossible to understand given their roster. Flame thrower Mason Miller has been a huge part of it and finally his name is starting to infiltrate everyone's brain.

Miller made his MLB debut last year as a starter, but had to be converted to a reliever after spraining his UCL in his elbow early on. To start 2024 Oakland decided Miller as a closer was the way to move forward and for once it looks like they made the right call. This motherfucker is a monster. If you're trailing the A's in the 9th inning you're gonna get really sad about your chances when you see Miller on the mound. He's essentially a two pitch pitcher at the moment with a bazooka four seamer and a wipe out slider. That combination has rendered him must watch and unhittable.  Just look at some of these highlights.

42% of Mason Miller’s pitches this year have been 100+ mph. No one even comes close to this guy, especially when you mix in his disgusting slider.

Corey Seager had zero chance in this at bat. None.

The combo of his pitches makes you really question how anyone hits a baseball.

It's weird to see the A's have a talented guy like this. This only really ends one of two ways: 1) Miller blows out his elbow and never recovers 2) he gets traded for a bucket of balls and goes onto reach super stardom with a contender. Here's to hoping for option two and he's pitching in the Bronx in August.
