Stop Me If You've Heard This Before: The Trailer For The New M. Night Movie Looks Awesome

A father and teen daughter attend a pop concert, where they realize they're at the center of a dark and sinister event.

I'll give this blog the same disclaimer I hinted at in the title: M. Night knows how to cut a good trailer. Sometimes, its lead to a good more and, more often than not, it's lead to a bad one.

Either way, I'd be lying If I said I wasn't excited for this. TRAILER SPOILERS AHEAD:

So I think the core concept here is awesome. The police use a concert as a trap to catch a serial killer played by a guy going though a career renaissance, Josh Hartnett. Using a prize as bait in order to catch criminals is actually a proven technique cops have used before, which makes it even more interesting. The fact that Hartnett is the killer was not technically a spoiler in this trailer since it was the pitch M. Night gave when he announced the movie but I do wish that hey kept more of it under wraps. Specifically the fact that the killer becomes aware of the trap that early into the movie.

I want this to be great but, like with everything M. Night, I'm gonna go in with cautious optimism. I actually liked his last movie, 'Knock at the Cabin' quite a bit unlike his previous two, 'Old' & 'Glass'". Hopefully, this is the start of a return of M. Night to is 20 year old peak.
