The Mentally Ill Real Stalker From "Baby Reindeer" Is Now Threatening To Sue For Defamation

I've been thinking about blogging about the Netflix show "Baby Reindeer" for a week now, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. For those not in the know, "Baby Reindeer" is a dark comedy/thriller/psychological mind fuck about a man who has a stalker. That's the very, VERY base level explanation of the show. I don't want to give any more away because I think everyone should watch it. Actually no. I take that back. I certainly do not think this show is for everyone. It is quite literally the most difficult show I've ever watched. It deals with very, very, extremely dark and graphic subject matter. It's a show that is purposely difficult to watch, but you want to keep going because you cannot believe what you are seeing. And it's all a true story, which only compels you more. Because you need to see how this madness ends. And every single twist and turn leaves you even more speechless, angry, bewildered, and every adjective in between. I finished the show last week and haven't been able to stop thinking about it, reading about it, and talking about it to other people who have watched. It's truly TV unlike I've ever seen.

Ok, that's the spoiler free blog, more or less. Again, I am trying to avoid giving away spoilers. But I needed to write about this fucking show!

Which leads us to the title- the crazy fucking stalker gave an interview and because she's a mentally ill psychopath, she is considering suing "for defamation". For reference, she sent him 41,071 emails, 350 hours of voicemail, 744 tweets, 46 Facebook messages and 106 pages of letters:

People - Baby Reindeer’s alleged real-life stalker is sounding off on the hit Netflix show — and she's extremely unhappy with how she's portrayed.

In a recent interview conducted by the Daily Mail, which declined to identify her by name, the woman weighed in on the show based on the experiences of the show’s creator, writer and star Richard Gadd.

The 58-year-old woman from London, portrayed onscreen by Jessica Gunning, claimed she has received “death threats and abuse from Richard Gadd supporters.”

"He's using Baby Reindeer to stalk me now," she said, arguing that Gadd was "bullying an older woman on television for fame and fortune."

"I'm the victim. He's written a bloody show about me," she added.

Despite Gadd’s efforts both on and offscreen to protect her identity, Martha’s real-life counterpart told the Daily Mail she is considering legal action. She also claimed Gadd has “main character syndrome.”

Seems par for the course! This lady is batshit crazy. I did think it was a little wild he made this show while this woman is still alive, like, she is a maniac stalker and now the whole world knows it. Even though they sorta hid her identity, how are they so sure she won't have a manic attack and return? I'm actually more worried about him now than when I was watching the show!

Anywho, check out the show but seriously, if you can't handle graphic or uncomfortable situations it's also ok to stay away. I could definitely see "Baby Reindeer" cleaning up at the Emmys, as it currently has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and the lead writer and actor Richard Gadd is insanely good in it. Props to him for telling his story too. What a show.
