11 Years After Teaching Us All How To Tie A Tie, Jayson Tatum Has Finally Returned To Teach Us How To Tie A Shoe

You hear all the time about how terrible a place the internet is, what a cesspool it can be at times, and all the harm it causes on a daily basis. There's definitely some truth to that, but you know what?

Sometimes it brings you gifts you could have never even imagined were possible.

For example, never in my wildest dreams did I think we would ever get a sequel to perhaps one of the greatest videos the internet has. A young Jayson Tatum teaching us all how to tie a tie

Knowing how to tie a tie is something everyone should know how to do, even if you never have to wear one. It's one of those small life skills you hear about that's just good to have. It's not overly complicated, you just have to take a few seconds to figure it out, and once you do you're pretty much set for life. My advice would be to just listen to Jayson Tatum if you're a younger stoolie who realizes you have no idea how to tie a tie and you have a job interview lined up in a few weeks.

An iconic video in every sense, we had gone over a decade without a sequel to this masterpiece. Critics were skeptical it would ever happen, fans had given up hope, and it felt like we were going to have to accept that we were only getting that instant classic

And then, suddenly, everything changed on May 3rd, 2024.

We are so goddamn back! In fact, this might go down as one of the greatest comebacks in the history of comebacks. You know what a flex it is to follow up your video as a teenager with a video of you being one of the faces of the NBA and showing the world how to tie a shoe….using your own custom shoe? That's incredible.

Was I ever curious how Jayson Tatum ties his shoes? I didn't think I was until I saw that video dropped. While some people may use the Bunny Ear Method, not me. I'm in the JT camp. Not just with the initial tie, but also with the double knot. If we're being honest this is how I've always thought everyone tied their shoes, but I guess not. Considering I've always thought me and Jayson Tatum had absolutely nothing in common seeing as how he's one of the greatest basketball players on the planet and I'm just a lowly blogger, as it turns out maybe we're more alike than I thought?

Sure, all I'm missing is the talent, good looks, and hundreds of millions of dollars, but at least we're on the same page when it comes to tying our shoes and knowing how to tie a tie, so where I come from that's called progress. If we're checking off those boxes, I can only imagine the rest will fall into place here shortly.

Videos like this are exactly why you don't play with your food and you win your playoff series as quickly as possible. Instead of having to be locked in for a must win Game 6, we can instead relax and watch fun YouTube videos of Tatum telling us how he ties his shoes. I have to admit, I much prefer this option compared to what could have been, and from the looks of things this method is proving to be rather successful for Tatum

Now all I keep thinking about is what comes next? We have the tie, we have the shoes, do we go belt? The possibilities are endless, and hopefully we don't have to wait another 11 years to find out.
