Taylor Swift's Music Is BACK On TikTok

THIS IS AMAZING!!!!! When Taylor had to do what UMG wanted and remove her music from TikTok in solidarity with whatever it is they are pulling (trying to get more money out of TikTok) it was devastating. Half of the videos I would even post were only because they were set to Taylor Swift songs, and with their absence my TikTok has been flopping tremendously. And yet, here we are, 8 days away from The Tortured Poets Department, and her songs are BACK!

I guess this is a great example of "what it means to own your own music." UMG is a massive label that houses all of the top artists, and while I understand what they're doing in strong arming TikTok, they're definitely losing. Tiktok hasn't seemed to care ONE BIT that UMG artists actual music isn't on there. I don't know how much money any artists actually make on TikTok streams, but as far as promoting  "new music" and having any of your music, new or old, pop up and go on a streaming run - TikTok was the only place to really make it pop off. They've found a loophole for the old stuff - people just upload "sped up" or "slowed down" versions of the songs, and that's it. People have moved on just fine. The Taylor Swift bootlegs just weren't hitting the same for me, so I am beyond thrilled by this news.

For those of us worried about the lack of promo for this album, fear not. This move clearly means that we're going to want to be screaming singing all her new music into our phones, posting them to TikTok, and having one big meta circle jerk breakup together. It's going to be glorious.
