"I Don't Care Who Said It, You're Gone" - Umpire Hunter Wendelstedt Ejects Aaron Boone In the First Inning, Ignoring That It Was a Fan Who Was Chirping And Not The Yankees Manager

UMP SHOW!!! Aaron Boone just got tossed in the first inning of today's game because a fan behind him chirped home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt. The Yankees manager was told not another word, said nothing, and then the fan chimed in. Boom, ejection. Never seen anything like that.

We don't even need Jomboy for the lip reading here with how empty the seats were for a Monday afternoon game. Audio, visuals, all of it crystal clear to show Boone did nothing wrong. How quickly he pointed to the fan was straight up comical. Like when your parents got mad at you as a kid when it was actually your brother.

The umpire's response being, “I don't care who said it,” is all-time. Genuinely hilarious to say that in the moment. The sole reason for the ejection was over something said yet the umpire claims it didn't matter who said it. Makes sense. I wonder if the umpire realized in that moment the fan was at fault, but was already too pot committed. Like you can't take back an ejection, right? Umpires would rather quit their job than do that. The fact that they can do this shit and have no repercussions is asinine. They don't get asked questions after the game and never have a shot at being fined or suspended.

Can you imagine being that fan sitting there the rest of the game being the reason the Yankees manager is out of the game?

That's some real life Curb Your Enthusiasm shit. You can't toss him from the game, right? He just gets to sit there and lay it on blue while Boone hits the showers early. Only in baseball.
