Joel Embiid Spent His Postgame Press Conference Basically Begging The Knicks To Trade For Him, We Must Treat This As Mental Warfare

Absolutely not. As a Knicks fan I will not accept Joel Embiid basically begging the Knicks to trade for him here. Not when he's solidifying himself as a top-5 villain to our franchise since I've been alive. I wasn't sure if anyone would touch Reggie, MJ, P.J. Brown, Alonzo Mourning, Pat Riley or any of those names from the 90s. Trae got close to it, but ultimately we've moved on. We've moved on to our natural rival. We've moved on to the dirtiest player in the league.

We're in the middle of a true playoff battle here. We just choked away game 5, winning the series and getting ready for Indy/Milwaukee. Instead we have to go back to Philly, deal with Tyrese Maxey again and more of Embiid's antics. That's why this is mental warfare. Embiid came out and said everything besides 'Leon Rose, you have my number, here are the Sixers demands, make it happen.' Talking glowingly about the city, living in NYC, the fans and how you embrace the 'fuck Embiid' chants? Not now Joel! Not now!

If last night showed anything it's 1) the Sixers are now Maxey's team. He's the guy who scares me. And 2) Embiid is ready to give up everything to be a Knick. I don't blame him. He probably saw the reports of Devin Booker wanting to be in New York and had to one-up him. He's trying to destroy us from inside the locker room. We can't let him do this. This is mental warfare, this is him trying to find an edge.

You don't get to say this when you're a villain. We already dealt with Pat Riley, we have experience with this here. We will not stop hating Joel Embiid and can't do the mental gymnastics of him becoming a Knick. Embrace the villain and let's go end this series in 6. For the love of God, please end this series in 6.
