In the words of Bruce Buffer…it'sssssssss timeeeeeeeeeeee

Baseball's top pitching prospect is getting the call to the big leagues. On Saturday against the Cubs, Paul Skenes will make his long-awaited MLB debut.

This is a big fucking deal and I couldn't be more excited to see him out there for real this time. Do you remember how sick it was to watch Strasburg's debut against the Pirates? 7 magical innings later he struck out 14 guys in complete dominant fashion. The crowd went ballistic. I was in high school and mesmerized. When the dust settled my jaw was found on the floor.

Let's run that energy back with Skenes, please. I don't need to ask, but that park better be packed to the gills on Saturday. 4:05 local start time, go get drunk in the early afternoon and be rowdy for first pitch. Saturday should be a mini holiday in Pittsburgh.

So far in the minors Skenes hasn't been tested. There's no competition for this man down there. It was just wasting everyone's time having him throw another pitch to these guys. Gerrit Cole described his fastball as a pitch that's meant to be thrown 70 feet away because it's so good.

Thought maybe they'd hold him out until June, but thankfully the wait is no more. Paul Skenes, Jared Jones, and Mitch Keller will combine to form a really nice trio to headline the Pirates' rotation. The organization need to figure out the rest of their laundry list of problems, but front-line SP ain't one of them. If you haven't gotten a chance to see Jones pitch, do so at your next opportunity.

Just imagine the adrenaline that's going to pumping through Skenes' veins on Saturday with Livvy Dunne cheering him on in the stands for his MLB debut? This psycho is going to painting corners at like 106 mph.

It'll take every ounce of will power in my body to not take his strikeout prop, whatever it is. Saturday, we ride.
