Pirates Infielder Jung-Ho Kang Denied Visa To Enter United States

Pittsburgh Pirates v Milwaukee Brewers

It has more or less been a constant stream of shit for Pirates infielder Jung-Ho Kang over the last year or so. Don’t feel bad, though. It’s not one of those “Why do bad things happen to good people?” stories.

In case you’ve been out of the loop on this, Kang was being investigated last summer for sexual assault, and then this past December, he was arrested for leaving the scene of a DUI accident in Korea. That incident got him dropped from the Korean WBC team. As part of the most recent news, which is Kang not being able to get back into the United States, this little tidbit was dropped in there, as well.

So, we’re not exactly dealing with someone who we should feel bad for over not being able to get back into the United States. Kinda sucks for the Pirates, though. If it weren’t for all of the shit that Kang’s gotten himself into lately, he more than likely would’ve been Pittsburgh’s starting third baseman on Opening Day. With the uncertainty surrounding Kang’s return, David Freese will likely take over at third base, which is ironic, because Freese has been arrested twice for DWI and was also charged with public intoxication, although it was later dropped. On second thought, maybe John Jaso at third?
