WJLA - A Baltimore woman was arrested Tuesday on child abuse charges after police say she left a 4 year old in a car all day at Maryland Live! Casino. Alicia Denice Brown faces child abuse charges. Photo: Anne Arundel Co. Police Dept. Police say Alicia Denice Brown, 24, left her young child unattended in a car for more than eight hours. A security officer spotted the child in a Maryland Live! parking garage. The guard apparently heard the child screaming from the car. There were blankets covering the windows. The child was taken to the hospital and was found to have no signs of physical abuse. The child is now with relatives. Brown is charged with: Child Abuse 2nd Degree, Confined Unattended Child under 8 years old, and Neglect of a Minor.

Yea but what was she supposed to do? You think rent is going to pay itself? You think food is just going to put itself on the table? Do you have any idea what the going rate for a babysitter on New Years Eve is? At least she brought the kid with her for Pete’s sake. And put blankets on the windows so the kid could have himself a little privacy. The fact she spent more than 8 hours in there is a testament to how much she loves that child. Probably went on a sick heater and had her kid’s future in mind. So good on her. She really swooped in at the last possible minute to win the mother of the year award for 2013.
