Ollie The Bobcat Escaped From The National Zoo Today And They Have No Idea Where She Is Hiding In DC #GoOllieGo

WUSA - Officials are searching for a female bobcat they said has escaped from the National Zoo.

Ollie, a 25 pound female bobcat, was last seen in her enclosure around 7:30 a.m. Monday. Around 10:40 a.m., zoo keepers called the bobcats for their morning feeding and Ollie did not respond. 

Animal Care staff searched and have not found Ollie.

Officials believe that she may return to her familiar grounds for food and shelter. Zoo staff are keeping the area around the bobcat exhibit closed because the bobcat will likely stay hidden from humans. Ollie is wild born and estimated to be almost seven years old.

According to the zoo, bobcats are not known to be aggressive to humans.

Go Ollie Go! Love a good story like this. Ollie the Bobcat escaping from her cage at 7:30 this morning, just peacing out before breakfast to take on the world. Such a feel-good story. Day after day, Ollie would wake up, eat the same meal, entertain all the annoying kids, and then go to bed. Rinse and repeat. Living the Truman Show life. So Ollie had enough. Said you know what, I’m a bomb ass bobcat. I don’t need to be in this zoo. I have more to offer to the world. So she did what Truman did and army crawled her way out. Set sail on the high seas. Going to see what DC has to offer. Probably stopping in at Ben’s Chili Bowl (overrated), going to Verizon Center to see the Caps (#OurYear), and hanging out with babies on the corner selling weed to Dave Chappelle- all the great things DC has to offer. I hope Ollie gets adopted by a family and lives a long, prosperous life with a family in Glover Park. #GoOllieGo
