Howie Roseman Is Going Mad With Power: Eagles Sign S Rodney McLeod To 5-Years, $37M
Live looks at Howie Roseman:
On the surface, I LOVE it. A safety who was an undrafted FA who has worked his way in 4 years from the punt team to starter where PFF ranked him him 9th in coverage and 4th in tackling amongst all safeties in the NFL. Not too shabby of a player to have next to Malcolm Jenkins, eh? HOWEVER, I HATE that Howie is going mad with his newly recovered power. Not with the actual contracts, but, AGAIN, with him being in charge of dealing with talent. Plus the fact I also despise how he likes to magically make the team better by cutting guys he didn’t bring in and putting 100000000x more emphasis on FA than the draft. That latter part you can’t dispute. Great teams become great because they draft great. Howie has always tried to buy his way to the top. So, as I repeat, I love this play by bringing in Rodney McLeod and locking him down long term for solid money. But then again, I also loved it when Howie signed Nhamdi Asstomouth, too.
I’ll go in depth later, and I’m not saying these plays have been good or bad cause we don’t know, but why exactly does Howie feel the need to be super aggressive every damn off-season? Obviously the answer is if you draft well you don’t need to do this, but good gravy, calm your tits for a couple hours during free agency, man. Also, gotta love how Howie Roseman was the one that brought in Chip and gets zero blame or consequences when it was a disaster. I need a break from life.
