Tonight is Opening Night For The Yuggernauts: Will We Win a Game This Year?

There's a time in every mans life where something bad happens and they either let it destroy them or make them stronger. It could be the loss of a loved one, a break up, being fired, or simply not being able to win a mens league basketball game. Last years Yuggernaut season broke me. I looked myself in the mirror and saw a ghost. A shell of a man who couldn't get the job done.

Dana's box score tweets still haunt me, in my dreams all I hear is, "keep shooting smokes, you were only 3/11!" I would wake up covered in sweat like Anakin Skywalker dreaming about the death of Padme, back straight and eyes wide like the Undertaker, staring into a dark abyss, hopeless and desperate for a new start.

Well, tonight is the night. Last season is now a thing of the past. Tonight is the start of a new regime. No longer do we have a coach dressed in jump suits with slicked back hair who had no idea what he was doing. There is no more fuck it run around and figure it out. This team now has structure and a true identity.

It started when Big Cat took over as head coach in our last game of the season and after losing every game by 25+ points we lost by two in OT against the #1 team in the league. The strategy was simple; slow the game down and feed our bigs. The strategy this year is no different, except this time we have a coach in Tate Moore who has implemented a system to execute our game plan. I will no longer be sitting on the wing not knowing what to do, when to cut or who to pass to. The plays are set, our roles are clear, and we are ready to win our first game as Yuggernauts.

Tune in tonight 9PM CST on Dana Beers Youtube.
