Chris Davis Vows To Make Adjustments And Improve In 2019 *RDT Makes Fart Noises*

Well well, here we have former slugger, Chris Davis. He was at a charity event this week when he was about his struggles in 2018 and how he plans to not be suck in 2019. People in Baltimore have heard this since he signed the gigantic contraction after the 2015 season. He's committed to changing his ways and is open to any and all criticism, except he's not. This is the same PR BS that he has been saying for years.
Remember when he said that if the teams shifted on him that he would learn to lay down a bunt for a hit? He did that like 4 times last year before he said he got frustrated that he couldn't bunt, so he stopped trying. Instead he just struck out almost 200 times. Remember when Orioles legend and baseball Hall Of Fame, Jim Palmer called him a liar because Davis said he had been working on adjustments?

In the video from this week, Davis said he's going to sit-down and meet with a few guys to try and make some adjustments. Dude, what the hell have you been doing the last three seasons? How was last season any different than the other two? He's been dogshit since he signed the extension, and he has said countless times in the past he is going to make adjustments and work, but he doesn't. In the Plamer video he was saying how Chris said he's adjust his stance, move his hands, move his shoulders, he never did that last year. So why all of a sudden is he going to magically do it now? I don't believe Davis at all. Also, he said he's going to reach out to them. It's almost November, he hasn't played since mid-September, what has he been doing since the season ended? Why has he not already reached out?
He also says that when he wasn't playing in the last few weeks it gave him some time to think and dig to find out what he did wrong. WHY WERE YOU NOT THINKING AND DIGGING AFTER THE FIRST MONTH WHEN YOU BATTED .185 WITH 32 KS. WHY WERE YOU NOT THINKING AND DIGGING AFTER THE FIRST HALF WHEN YOU WERE BATTING .158 WITH 9 HOME RUNS AND 116 KS? WHY WERE YOU NOT THINKING AND DIGGING AFTER THE FIRST TWO SEASONS OF YOUR EXTENSION WHEN YOU HIT .218 WITH AN OBP OF .320?
Davis also said in the video that he's gonna watch video, read, and watch some of the new age power hitters to learn how they have success. Dude, you were the new age power hitter in 2013. You had reached that point where you were the most feared slugger in the game. And then for some reason you literally forgot how to hit a baseball.
I know he is supposed to say this because he has to make it sound like he is trying and wants to do better. No one in Baltimore has seen an ounce of honesty when it comes to Davis making adjustments. If I remember correctly he changed his stance for about 4 minutes in 2017, then he went back to the old stance. He can talk all he wants about how much he cares and how hard these last few seasons have been affecting him. Save all that, when you are getting paid the amount of money he is, you have to perform well, and if you aren't performing well and you have Hall Of Famers saying you need to change stuff up, shut up and listen. Instead of listening to Palmer and attempting to work it out, he got butthurt and pissy about the comments.

I mean look at this quote above. "It'd be foolish for me to go out there and do the same thing over and over, especially after struggling so much this past season." THAT IS LITERALLY WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DOING THE LAST THREE YEARS. Give me a god damn break. He's trying to play the sympathy card and show us he's human. It's hard for the people who come out and support this team to buy this BS when they see that he doesn't make any changes or listen to advice from anyone.
Here is how I think the offseason will go for Chris. He said he'll start hitting and throwing right before Christmas, that is probably true. He'll probably keep taking BP with his same stance, hands in the same spot, and he'll mash. He'll feel great. Then he'll show up to Spring Training talking about how good he feels, how healthy he is, how he can't wait to get the past few seasons behind him, how he made adjustments, he's willing to bunt, he'll hit wherever in the order that he needs to. He'll say it all. Then once Spring Training finishes and the season starts, he'll revert back to his old ways, attempt to strike out 200 times by the All Star break, and hopefully whoever is in charge of the Orioles will send him packing.
I don't see Davis fixing this in Baltimore, I really don't. He's a shell of himself and is still owed the world. He'll talk his talk about how he wants to do well and how much he cares, and then he will heck his online banking statements and roll back over to sleep. Rinse and repeat with Chris. Shut up about making adjustments and do it. Show that you actually care instead of snapping a bat over your leg every other time you strike out, no one in Baltimore or America feels bad for you.
I hope he fixes it, I really do. I hope I'm laughing at this blog next season when he's hitting .250 with 40 bombs on a last place team. I hope I'm eating my words, but I doubt he will make me do that. Unless he physically prints this blog and makes me eat it.
