The NFL offices have to be glad that this was the first ejection. Pretty cut and dry case. The defender launched with his head down into the offensive player’s helmet and never looked to make the play in any other way. That’s about as easy as it comes and most rational people will agree.

I still think the rule is going to be a NIGHTMARE when there’s a huge game on the line and there’s 6 minutes to go and one of these plays extends a drive on an incomplete pass on 3rd and 12.
