Djimon Hounsou Joined 'A Quiet Place Part II' And The Cast Is Looking Great

Premiere Of Warner Bros. Pictures'

(Deadline) “Djimon Hounsou is replacing Brian Tyree Henry in a starring role in A Quiet Place Part II, the Paramount and Platinum Dunes followup to the sleeper genre hit. John Krasinski is directing his script and Platinum Dunes partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller produce with Michael Bay.

Source said that Henry (Atlanta) has exited over scheduling problems and Hounsou steps into a big role, alongside Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, Cillian Murphy. The 2018 original grossed $341 million worldwide.”

Djimon Hounsou is one of the more underrated actors of the last 20 years. ‘Gladiator’, ‘Blood Diamond’ and ‘Armistad’ are all certified bangers. Not to mention the fact that he is the most successful crossover star from the Marvel/DC movies with roles in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Shazam’, ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Captain Marvel’ (And also 2005’s ‘Constantine’, which is a DC comic). While I wasn’t the hugest fan of the original movie, I’m a big fan of this trio in Hounsou, Emily Blunt and my king Cillian Murphy. Hot take: this may make more money than the original considering the hype from the first one and the expanded cast.
