Having Daylight At 6AM > Having Daylight At 6PM, Sorry If This Offends

Good morning, everyone(it's morning in Chicago at the time of this writing). I had a simple tweet this morning that I knew would ruffle a few feathers as people begin to adjust to daylight savings. The reaction to this tweet was…harsh

Called me by my government name, that's serious

The burrata gang is allowed to have whatever opinion they like as long as they tell the truth. There is no dividing the Burrata Gang. That is what people don't understand about us.

That's a bold and untrue statement. I took exchange rates.

And then we have the king of mass manipulation…Kim Jung Ed

#FakeNews. I do not love darkness at 6pm. Not one bit. The best part of summer is having the sun up for 16 hours. Ed is acting like I want to move to Alaska for the winter and become a vampire. That couldn't be further from the truth. The truth is that if someone put a gun to my head and made me choose between the sun being up at 6am or 6pm I would choose 6am.

There is NOTHING worse than having to wake up when it is dark. It is the worst. I've had two manual labor jobs in my life. Even in the summer on my way to the factory it'd be dark at 445am when I woke up. It was depressing as fuck. That alarm going off next to your head when it is pitch black out is the worst way to wake up. You start every day in a bad mood. You can't even feel good until like 9am. It BLOWS to wake up that way every day. Somewhere along the way I have morphed into a morning person. I don't know how, when, or why it happened, but I just get up without an alarm every day before 6am. I wish it wasn't that way, but it is. And there is no better way to wake up than by the morning light peaking into your bedroom and gently hitting your face until you wake up. And apparently waking up that way helps you fall asleep and sleep better according to science AND google

This is such a proven fact that companies now make alarms that don't have sound, but mimic the sunrise.

The dog and I casually and peacefully wake up around the same time every day and we do it thanks to the sun. I was walking him this morning. The sun was shining. The air was just a little bit crisp. It was quiet out and peaceful. It was PERFECT. I was feeling good and that is why the tweet was sent. That is how I want to wake up every day for the rest of my life.

It'd be great to have summer daylight hours. Believe me, I'd lock Australia into permanent darkness if I could. Unfortunately the Earth tilts and we get fucked. Having said that…you know what I am doing when the sun goes down in the winter…nothing. I am cooking/eating dinner, relaxing on the couch, and watching sports. That is it. The sunlight doesn't impact my ability to do those things at all. It's dark, the day is largely over, it's time to wind down and just chill. It absolutely sucks if you're going to work when it's dark and coming home when it's dark. I am just saying that given the choice between starting the day right by waking up naturally and finishing the day inside watching sports while it's dark, or waking up shitty and staring outside my window at the sun at 6pm…give me the morning glory every time. If that makes my a psychopath then lock me up I guess, just make sure I get my yard time in the AM.

The people… do not agree

600 likes on the original tweet. I am counting those for 3 votes a piece for 6am. The poll came out after the morning people had started their day.
