Lane Kiffin Is Not The Only Coach Rumored to Be On Way Out in the Egg Bowl
Smoke has been in the air around Ole Miss Coach Lane Kiffin leaving for Auburn for two months. One day out from the Egg Bowl, I do not know of many Ole Miss fans who feel good about Lane staying in Oxford.
I made a $100 bet with Brandon Walker on Picks Cetnral in October that Lane would not be the next coach at Auburn. To be honest, I feel like I am going to be a C Note lighter on Monday at this point.
In the last 48 hours, rumors have started flying about the future of Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach as well.
What I am hearing is that Leach may possibly resign due to some health issues. To be honest, he has not looked very good lately and has had a noticeable bad cough. This is all merely speculation at this point and I do not know anything concrete.

I truly hope Mike Leach's health is fine. He is a an American treasure of a character and would be sorely missed in college football. The last thing anyone wants is for him to get sick. John Cohen, the athletic director who hired Leach at State just went to Auburn as well and was a big part of his support system.
All of a sudden we have a very odd situation on our hands with this Egg Bowl. The entire state of Mississippi is a divided battleground with lines in the sand and both coaches potentially have a foot out the door. It makes this game hard as hell to read.
Ole Miss is currently a 2 point favorite at home in the Barstool Sportsbook. And there's a 70% chance of rain which actually favors the Rebels because of their strong running game with all world SEC RB freshman Quinshon Judkins. But what is Ole Miss morale like with all the Lane to Auburn talk?!?!?

The old cliche "You can throw out the record books when these teams play" applies here. It is a rivalry game that could go either way.
