AND THAT IS HOW YOU RESPOND! Down not only their top center Patrice Bergeron, the Bruins were missing David Krejci as well (late scratch, upper body) and still put up 4 and re-seized home ice advantage with a big win in Game 3. LET'S GET INTO IT.

1ST PERIOD:

Taylor Hall opened the scoring less than 2 minutes into the game. 1-0 Bruins.

2ND PERIOD:

Charlie Coyle extended the Bruins lead in the 2nd with a tip in off Brad Marchand's shot. 2-0 Bruins.

3RD PERIOD:

David Pastrnak buries an insane pass from Dmitry Orlov to make it 3-0 Bruins midway through the 3rd.

Taylor Hall finds Nick Foligno who went from scratch to goal scorer in Game 3. Great finish, great feed. 4-0 Bruins.

Gustav Forsling buried a shorthanded goal to get the Panthers on the board. 4-1.

With 4:01 to go Sam Reinhart cut the Bruins lead back to 2. Whistle blew before the goal but Ullmark did not have it tied up. 4-2.

FINAL: Boston 4, Florida 2

News, notes and quotes:

- 3rd straight game without Patrice Bergeron. Did not make the trip. "Likely" for Game 5 per Jim Montgomery.

- David Krejci was a surprising late scratch. Took warmups. Bruins called it an upper body injury. 50/50 for Game 4 doesn't sound great.

- Sooo Nick Foligno goes from scratch to goal scorer in Game 3 with David Krejci's injury. LOVE to see him get rewarded tonight. Nice finish off a great pass from Taylor Hall. First playoff goal since April 10th, 2019 per my pal Ty Anderson.

- Speeeeaking of Taylor Hall. 2nd straight game with a goal for him (1G, 1A tonight). He's starting to feel it. Perhaps an even better pass from Dmitry Orlov. Orlov finished the night with 2 assists, both phenomenal passes.

- Charlie Coyle was the best player on the ice tonight. My god what a monster performance from him when they needed him most.

- Jakub Lauko slotted in for his 1st career playoff game. Thought he had some great jump, drew a penalty.

- Matt Grzelcyk made his postseason debut as well and looked really poised and confident moving the puck. Great addition from Montgomery.

- The Bruins PK has stays perfect. They did a great job tonight stifling Florida.

- Aaron Ekblad left the game briefly in the 2nd after colliding with Charlie McAvoy. Returned for the 2nd but did not return for the 3rd period. No word on the severity of his injury. Would be a big loss for Florida.

- David Pastrnak picked up his 2nd goal of the postseason burying a stretch pass from Orlov. Tyler Bertuzzi in on the goal as well. Bertuzzi and Pastrnak have developed some great chemistry here as of late. Nice to see 88 get back on the board.

- Linus Ullmark was a game time decision but made the start tonight. I thiiiink it has more to do with illness than injury as he looked a bit shaky in Game 2. Looked solid tonight (28 of 30 saves).

- Alex Lyon was pulled for Sergei Bobrovsky after Pastrnak's goal in the 3rd. Bobrovsky allowed a goal and made 8 saves. We'll see who Paul Maurice goes with in Game 4. I thought he would've went to Bobrovsky in Game 2 but stuck with Lyon. Let's see if he does the same.

A lot of uncertainty and uneasiness heading into Game 3 with no David Krejci but Boston persevered. Thought they had really good layers tonight, outside of the last 5 minutes of the game when they allowed 2 goals in the span of 2 minutes. Didn't love that they took their foot off the gas up 4-0. Monster game from Charlie Coyle. Really loved Charlie McAvoy's (25:21 TOI, 8 hits) bounce back as well. Really solid performance through 55 minutes. Still don't think we've seen their best yet, but a good response here in Game 3 to take a 2-1 series lead.
