Taylor Swift Laughed Her Ass Off During A Performance Of A Song About Forgiving Kanye

Page Six - This is why Taylor Swift can’t have nice things.

The Grammy winner, who is on the American leg of her blockbuster Eras Tour, performed her Kanye West diss track “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” for the first time since 2018 during her concert Saturday night.

Swift let out an epic cackle during the song — which which appeared on her “Reputation” album — when she played an acoustic rendition at Seattle’s Lumen Field.

“And here’s to you, ’cause forgiveness is a nice thing to do,” she sang before bursting into fits of laughter, which she has always done while performing the song.

When she eventually composed herself, the pop star, 33, quipped, “I can’t even say it with a straight face.”

Fans were quick to react to the surprise performance of the track, which was released after her infamous feud with West, 46, and his then-wife, Kim Kardashian.

I saw this article headline and immediately thought, there's TMZ and Page Six exaggerating again by invoking the two most dramatic pop-stars in the world right now in one story.

Then I found the video and watched it

And yah. That's an evil witch's cackle if I've ever heard one.

So safe to say that the Taylor Swift and Kanye West drama train is still chugging along, after making a brief pit stop at  the "forgiveness" station along the way. Can you believe it's been 14 years since the infamous VMA Awards debacle?

This past weekend, there Taylor was, strutting her stuff on stage during her Eras Tour in Seattle, in the middle of performing the hit "This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things," a song born out of that classic phone recording incident from 2016.

You remember that whole shit show, don't you? The one where Kanye kindly informed Taylor that he'd be dropping his song, "Famous," which included the oh-so-eloquent line, "I made that bitch famous." Ah, yes, a true poetic masterpiece. (but the swizz beatz produced track is fire can't lie)

Taylor begged to differ. And after a leak of the entire conversation dropped a couple years ago, it turns out Taylor was vindicated for being right the whole time.

There’s a phrase called “taking the high road”. It entails not stooping to the level of people who do you wrong. Not letting shitbags bring you down.

That’s not what Taylor did here.

Kelly will say this is “girl power” or “slay queen” or whatever it is that applies in this situation from her Jonestown fanatical viewpoint on this. But as a slightly less obsessed fan of Taylor’s, I can’t help but say I’m disappointed in her here.

Her taking shots at Kanye right now is just her punching down. Something she needn’t do.

I get that she’s running out of songs to play for her “surprise song” portion of her shows, so Nice Things was bound to come up eventually. But this move is just fanning the flames of a beef that was put to rest. Now she’s shook the crazy cage and you just know Kanye won’t be able to keep his mouth shut.

Last thing he needs or we need right now.

Can’t we all just get along?

*If this was directed at Kim and not Kanye I take everything I wrote back. punch down Taylor. Punch down all you want. In combinations. Relentlessly.
