Accomplice In Army Specialist Vanessa Guillen's Murder Receives Max Sentence As Horrific New Details Emerge

Cecily Aguilar has received 30 years - the max sentence - for her part in the horrific murder of Specialist Vanessa Guillén back in April of 2020.

Aguilar's then boyfriend, Spc. Aaron Robinson, bludgeoned Guillen to death with a hammer on Fort Hood in an armory, and then Aguilar helped him dispose of Guillen’s body. The details of that process, many of which came out in court yesterday - are absolutely gut wrenching and were truly acts of pure evil. According to media in attendance, gasps could be heard throughout the court as friends & family cried & hugged each other to get through it.

Warning, it is graphic and worse than anyone could imagine:

Justin Duck of the Texas Rangers alleges Aguilar told him how Aguilar and Robinson skinned and then burned Guillen's body with gasoline around the Leon River and that Robinson has sexual intercourse with the body of the slain soldier after she was murdered.

Aguilar & Robinson then buried Guillen in 3 separate, shallow, cement-filled holes. Aguilar repeatedly lied to law enforcement about their involvement & tried erasing things off Robinson’s Google account.

Aguilar’s attorney pointed to a difficult childhood as the reason for her actions, but the judge said that none of that correlated to the case. Auilar also asked the family for forgiveness in court yesterday, to which Vanessa’s sister Mayra said, “It’s just hard to find that apology sincere.” Guillen’s mother addressed Aguilar directly saying she hopes she repents and the judge cried as she spoke.

For his part, Spc. Robinson, ever the coward, took his own life before being charged back in July of 2020 (he was able to slip away from an unarmed guard in his own unit, on top of a massive series of bungled steps by Army leadership on Fort Hood that made the entire case more difficult), leaving Aguilar the only one sentenced in this case.

I hope it brings the family some peace, and I’ve been in absolute awe of the Guillen’s and their fight to make sure troops are held accountable for sexual assaults & misconduct, and how they’ve emboldened & connected survivors for the cause. Rest in peace Specialist Guillen.
