Michael Kay Said Brian Daboll Threw A Huge Party At His House The Night Before The Giants Got Waxed By The Cowboys Before Apologizing After Finding Out It Was Daboll’s Son’s 6th Birthday Party

NJ.com- Per Michael Kay on “The Michael Kay Show” on ESPN New York:

“I have it on good authority that Brian Daboll had a huge party at his house on Saturday night,” Kay said in the third hour of his show. “You’re not throwing a big party if you’re about to get your butt kicked by the Cowboys. So, this took everybody by surprise. And that’s what’s scary. Nobody expected this sort of blowout. They thought that they were going to play with them and they didn’t even show up. “

That scares me guys. That tells me that they don’t even know their own team. There’s no way the head coach of a team throws a huge party like that the night before the opener if they think that there’s a chance that they’re going to get blown out.”

I guess that's the end of the Honeymoon Phase for Brian Daboll and the media! You would think a Coach of the Year award and the first playoff win in more than a decade would get Dabes past Week 1. However, getting curb stomped 40-0 on national TV by a division rival by being historically awful will shorten your leash real quick with the media and fans.

Now I get what Michael Kay is saying here. I like when my football team's head coach is spending his morning, afternoons, and nights at the team's facility. In fact, don't want my coach and his family to know what each other look like from August-February. And if there's a division game, you better be coaching ball on the field Saturday instead of doing cannonballs in your pool.

However I also realize coaches are actually human (well except for maybe Sean McVay) and I've also been following New York sports long enough to know this is the time when the sports radio personalities turn everything up to 11, from sourcing inflammatory stories to doing stuff like this.

I mean I truly hope Brian Daboll wasn't hosting a Project X party the night before a game just like I hope none of his players were attending a party like that the night before a game. If they did, they better perform like LT did after his legendary Saturday nights then beat Dallas 40-0 instead of the other way around.

I also know that based simply on probability alone due to the absurd size of his family, Brian Daboll likely has a kid whose birthday was last week and every kid needs to have a birthday party. So if him and the misses threw a gigantic party in their backyard that looked like Billy Madison passed another grade, I understand it, even though I wish he threw it a week earlier.

UPDATE: Yup is exactly what happened. No big deal just like I said.

The bottom line here is you can do whatever the fuck you want to do, as long as you win. If not, you'll have the sharks in the water looking for blood to start a feeding frenzy sooner rather than later, no matter how well the previous season ended.

P.S. This is just my considerable gut talking here, but I can guarantee you Brian Daboll has the BEST food at his parties. I'm talking all the traditional apps from mozz sticks to wings, multiple 6' heroes that includes at least one American hero and one chicken cutlet with fresh mozz + roasted red peppers hero, Italian food catered from the best local Italian spot, burgers, dogs (both obviously grilled by Daboll himself) and some sort of monster dessert display. I don't know if we're doing a chocolate fountain, a candy station, renting a Mr. Softee, or all of the above. But you knowwwwww Dabes is letting it all fly like Wink Martindale calling a blitz on third down.

Great now I'm hungry. Or at least hungrier than I usually am since I'm always hungry. Thanks for nothing Coach Daboll (but seriously I still love you’. Please beat the shit out of the Cardinals on Sunday).

We’re on to Arizona. Again.
