Put Whatever NFL Agent That Just Got Jerry Jeudy A 3 Year, $58 Million Contract Into The Negotiating Hall Of Fame

Either I haven't paid enough attention until now, or I've never seen Rapoport announce who "negotiated the deal" before. But I see why he chose to today start mentioning it, because whoever got Jerry Jeudy a contract extension of nearly $20 million a year should get a statue outside the NFL Agents headquarters. I mean, are we sure these numbers are right? The numbers that I KNOW are right are underwhelming to say the least....

What about that says $58 million over three years? And I get that stats don't show everything, and I get that Jerry Jeudy has had the pleasure of playing with perhaps the worst string of quarterbacks of 4 years in NFL history, but I need someone with a brain to explain to me the urgency in getting this deal done right now. What are we paying so much for? Potential? Did Andrew Berry just watch a 2019 Alabama highlight reel before bed last night? This contract just seems completely unnecessary.

With all that being said, I have complete and utter faith in our General Manager. He looks like a genius now for extending David Njoku, and I'm hoping we can all look back on this signing one day and concur that at least it wasn't the worst deal ever it was a beneficial one, too. The guy is still only 24 years old, he can play on the perimeter or in the slot, and he should be in his prime…….so maybe we know something that no one else knows? Maybe we've seen something that no one else has seen? But we've got Broncos fans on the internet right now chirping us wondering if we even have internet in Ohio, because the clips on that little invention do not show a man worth $58 million…..

All I'm saying is I can find someone out in the Muni Lot that will drop passes for far less than $41, let alone a $41 million dollar signing bonus….

Regardless, these are the types of contracts that will make or break the Cleveland Browns. If he's being paid what he's truly worth, he will be an asset to Deshaun Watson and the Browns will be substantially better off for it. If we just paid all this money for a consistent sub 1,000 yard reciever with only a few touchdowns per year, then Andrew Berry just traded away all of our draft picks and spent all of our money to lock in an underperforming QB that isn't living up to the hype, and a receiver that is in the same boat. Risky move today, and I don't love it, but I'm riding with Andrew Berry here.
