The Timberwolves Twitter Account Putting Out A "Receipts" Video Is A Tremendous Way To Talk Your Shit After A Sweep

I'm a firm believer that when your franchise's playoff history over the last two decades looks like this

and you finally find a way to win a playoff series for the first time since the KG era (and it's a sweep at that), you're allowed to talk as much shit as you want until the next round begins.

The fine people of the Twin Cities have known nothing but playoff pain regardless of the sport, so there's absolutely nothing wrong with letting them all finally have their moment, even if it's only coming after the first round. The Wolves have been dominant since Day 1 of the NBA season, they were one of the most consistent teams all year, and pretty much everything from the Gobert trade to drafting Ant to their depth signings and trades are all looking like fantastic decisions. If there was ever a moment to puff your chest out a little bit, now is the time.

Which is why the Wolves Twitter account unleashing a video of receipts following their sweep is exactly what I would want my team to be doing if I was a Wolves fan

Listen, when you win you're allowed to talk all the shit you want. That's how sports work. If you don't want someone dancing on your grave or talking shit, beat them. It's as simple as that. Who cares if it's all a bunch of random Twitter accounts, when you win a series against a superteam 4-0, everyone can get it. There's no need to be the "bigger" person and simply focus on the next series. Not when it's been 20 years since you've won a round in the playoffs! That's exactly the moment you should be talking all your shit. If random Twitter users wanted to try and troll after your wins, it's only right that the team account punches back.

Is it petty? Sure. But who cares? To the victor go the spoils etc etc. For as long as the DEN/LAL series goes on, the Wolves' Twitter account (and their fans) should enjoy the moment however the hell they please. If that's exposing the trolls and bringing out the receipts, so be it. If that means having crazy takes about where Ant ranks in the league as a player, so be it. If that means having crazy takes about how deep of a run the Wolves can make, so be it. That's the fun of the playoffs. The highs are insanely high and the lows reach the center of the earth. It's such an emotional rollercoaster that you can't really be held responsible for what you say.

Maybe as the playoffs go on they'll be humbled, but at the same time this does not exactly look like a team that's done. If anyone is poised to at least make things tough for the Nuggets out West, it's probably the team that went 2-2 against them during the year and was a 3 point loss away from it being 3-1.

While some may clown the Wolves for this or have an "act like you've been there before" critique, not me. You win a playoff series against a superteam for the first time in 20 years and this is exactly what should follow. Talk you shit, prepare for your next opponent and then go do it again.
