RIP Porn Star Olivia Lua

LAS VEGAS — Adult star Olivia Lua has passed away, according to her agency, LA Direct Models.

In a statement, LA Direct Models said Lua, 23, passed away this morning. Lua, a native of Philadelphia, started her adult career in 2016 and also used the name Olivia Voltaire. She worked on productions for Reality Kings, Vixen.com and Mofos, among others.

“Much comment has recently been made on the number of adult stars having passed in the last year and with great sadness we must inform that the list has grown longer,” said Derek Hay, who operates the agency. “May she rest in peace.”

Okay, now this is just getting flat out scary.  First it was Shyla Stylez.  Tragic.  But people pass away.  Then, almost instantly, it was August Ames and Yuri Luv.  Very weird, but the “deaths in 3″ thing unfortunately turns out to be true way too often.

But then it was Olivia Nova.  Four deaths in the porn industry in like, 2 months.

And now another.  Olivia Lua, found dead in West Hollywood yesterday.

“Olivia joined LA Direct Models in April 2017, though had not been available for work since early October of last year, as she had been facing some personal challenges that had seen her in residential rehab for a period of nearly three months and from which she had been out for about a month, hoping to make a return to work in the early part of this year.

“We learned today that she had returned to a different facility in West Hollywood after a relapse, approximately a week ago, at which she was found deceased this morning.

“Family and close friends [said] they had deep concern at the volume of prescription drugs prescribed to Olivia and the danger this posed [to] her. If this was mixed with recreational drugs or alcohol, it is believed this to be the cause of her passing.

I don’t know what can be done exactly, but something has to.  An outreach program or something.  There just has to be a way to try and confront the mental health crisis in the porn industry that is clearly becoming an epidemic.

RIP Olivia Lua.
