Gronk Is Back On The Field And Is Back Giving Us Classic Gronk One-Liners
He’s baaacckkk.
It’s been a long off season for Gronk since the question about retirement in Minneapolis. While we were all asking if we were going to see #87 on the field again, Gronk was being Gronk.
Highlights include, but are not limited to:
Getting into a dance battle where he got told by Shaq that he needed to “cut that shit out before he gets somebody pregnant”:
Spending his birthday at maybe the coolest place I’ve ever seen with one of the hottest women on the planet:
Risking it all for Shark Week:
and buying stake in a race horse (named Gronk, naturally):
But after a long question mark on if the future HOF tight end was going to be in the NFL this year, he reported to Foxboro for Day 1 of the Patriots mandatory mini-camp today. (Sorry WWE fans. Maybe next year.)
Even though most of the day was spent laughing and cracking jokes in typical Gornk fashion, I’m told by Phil Perry of NBC Sports that he had a serious — “basically unprompted” — moment in his media availability when talking about how his body and mind feels.
I’m going to go out on a limb, but it seems like the conflict over his training methods may still be lingering. It’s been reported that the Alex Guerrero method was a point of contention last year for the All-Pro Tight End.
But again, I could be reading too far between the lines. I’m a girl, after all. I overthink everything.
Gronk also said that he is “trying” to get a new contract. As of right now, he will be the 4th highest paid TE in the league behind Jimmy Graham, Greg Olsen and Trey Burton.
He’s not wrong.
Regardless, Pats fans should be happy Gronk is finally back on the field.
That also means he’s back talking to the media and giving us his classic one-liners. And that means we all win.
