If You Steal $36 Of Natty Ice From A Gas Station And Then Get Shot, That's On You

NYP - A gas station store owner in Florida was arrested after he allegedly shot a man who stole roughly $36 worth of beer from his shop.

Mehedeun Hasan, 22, was charged with attempted murder after deputies with the Polk’s County Sheriff’s Office said he shot 43-year-old Rennie Defoe Jr., Fox 13 reported.

Defoe, police said, stole three 18-packs of Natural Ice beer from the store on Tuesday night and hopped into his Toyota Camry.

Both Hasan and his father run after Defoe, but not before Hasan seemingly drops the gun and kicks it.

Afterwards, security video appears to show Hasan pointing the gun directly into Defoe’s car window and shooting as he backs up and drives away.

At some point after he was shot, Defoe crashed his car, the news station reported. He was transported to a hospital with gunshot wounds in his left arm and chest and remains in critical condition.

Deputies said Defoe, who was recently released from prison, has a criminal history, which includes charges of robbery, domestic battery and drug possession.

Hasan has no criminal record.

Ummmm, I’m sorry, that can’t be correct. They arrested the gas station owner? Oh no, no, no, no. That’s not how this works at all. The second someone steals $36 worth of beer from your place of business, they are a moving target. Sure, I don’t think everyone should go around shooting every ol’ person. That is in fact *checks notes* a very bad thing to do. HOWEVA, we are talking about a gas station in Florida and 3 18-packs of Natty Ice. Throw all of those components into a blender and you realize we aren’t talking about a normal universe. The norms and laws of society get thrown out the window when you combine those ingredients together.

My guy Mehedeun Hasan has every right to protect those cases of Natty Ice. You can’t just let people waltz into your grocery store, steal your finest product, and walk out without any repercussions. We must protect our Natty Ice with all our available recourses. As it says on the 1 dollar bill, if you don’t stand for Natty, you will fall for anything. If anything, Hasan should be given a medal for not killing the guy. For letting Defoe off easy with just a couple bullets in his arm and chest. Takes bravery. Respect.
