Nerds Agree That LeBron James Is The Best Player To Ever Step On The Basketball Court

[RealGM] – Daryl Morey believes LeBron James is the best player in the history of the NBA “by a bit of a big margin.”

“You look at his ability to generate wins and championship probability over time, and you basically break that down. You don’t need all the numbers. You can watch as well and see that.

“But if you basically isolate that and also look at the career he’s had, frankly I think at this point it’s become a bit of a big margin, actually, where he’s come out ahead. I know that’s a little controversial.”

Daryl Morey is one of the smartest nerds out there when it comes to just looking at analytics and figuring out how to apply that to a basketball team. Look at what he’s done with the Rockets and I’d say he’s on the right path. He’s consistently viewed as the best general manager in the NBA and is always trying to stay a step ahead when it comes to the analytic game.

He’s also not one to shy away from quotes. He talked about how the Rockets are only focused on beating the Warriors. Now it’s that LeBron is the best player in the history of the NBA by a bit of a big margin. It’s not a hot take to say that LeBron is the best player in the history of the NBA, but the ‘by a bit of a big margin’ will draw some looks.

Perhaps, Daryl Morey is in the pageviews game as well. Perhaps he’s trying to get in someones head and start up the Jordan vs LeBron debate. Who knows. I mean I don’t disagree that LeBron is the best player I’ve seen, but I would never say by a big margin. Him and Jordan are a clear top-2 and I won’t argue about which one you have first.
