Sacha Baron Cohen's Interview With OJ Simpson Might Be His Best Work Ever

Pretty spectacular work for Sacha Baron Cohen on last night’s “Who Is America?” I’m still stunned he gets away with these interviews, but God bless him for doing just that. If anybody in the year of our Lord 2018 finds themselves in an overly awkward or eccentric interview and they arent immediately assuming they are being pranked in some way for the internet, they are an idiot.

Anyway, the way this starts off is very funny, particularly because its subtly the most cutting thing you can say to OJ Simpson. List out all his major accomplishments…explain everything he once used to be…all of the stuff that made him into a sports and pop culture icon…and then remind him that, NOPE! People only remember you as a vicious murderer!

You almost have to go back and redefine the cringe scale for this one. Theres Awkward and then theres “Please stop joking about killing your wife via helicopter crash/bungee jumping “accident”/drowning her inside of a bag filled with rocks” Awkward. Sometimes I think that the Sacha Baron Cohen shtick has run its course and then he delivers an all time gem like this and I’m reminded its still comedic genius. But a bit like this is only as good as the interviewee, so shout out to OJ Simpson too for being the most obviously murderer of all time and living out his pathetic days on this planet unsuccessfully trying to convince people he didnt commit a double homicide. Provides for more laughs than Naked Gun 1 and 2 combined.
