Brad Marchand Was Basically Locked In A Cage In A Basement In China

So Brad Marchand has been blogging for NHL.com while the Bruins are in China and let me just say, it has been an absolute delight. You can say what you want about Brad Marchand, but the guy is hilarious, and no one can disagree with that.

In his latest blog for NHL.com, Marchand talks about how he got himself basically got himself locked in a closet during a shopping trip at the Silk Market.

I actually was pulled into the basement and put in this room and locked in the room for an hour. The lady asked if I wanted to see all the new clothing and everything they had in stock, so I said, “Yeah, sure.” She said, “Do you want to come into our warehouse?” I said, “Yeah, take me to the warehouse.”

So I walked with her to this elevator in this back room, went down — it must have been three floors — into the basement. We get out, it’s all dark, back alleys. She leads me into this metal, beaten-down door. Opens the door and it’s a closet. I thought we were going through there. We weren’t. I walk in, she closes the door, locks it, calls somebody, and I was like, oh, man. I’m in one right now. She told me to sit down. I said OK.

Imagine this. Being in a foreign country and being worth millions and basically getting put in a cage during a shopping trip. I would have freaked out. The second the door was locked I would do everything in my power to get out. I’m talking anything. I’d probably kill someone at that point, because kill or be killed, right?

Thankfully, Marchand wasn’t killed. He went on to say “I was a little nervous about that one. Just me, all by myself. But she was a kind lady. It worked out well. I got out of there alive.”

Marchand definitely has a future in the content game thought, this story was hilarious. I don’t think there is an NHL player that needs to come on Spittin’ Chiclets more than Brad Marchand right now. That would be unbelievable, I can only imagine some of the stories. He may be better off once he retires so we can hear the good stuff.

Regardless, it sounds like Marchand got out of it ok. But what the fuck man. The B’s need you to put up 30 this year. Please don’t go into anymore basement cages in China.
