Remember Former Eagles K Cody Parkey? Well, He Now Stinks For The Bears And That's GREAT For Philly
OK. Cody Parkey was once a valiant savior to this great city of Philadelphia. Remember noodle leg Alex Henery? Me neither, thankfully. To refresh, Alex Henery was the 4th round, I repeat, 4TH ROUND pick out of Nebraska who was the most accurate kicker in college history and was supposed to boot well for a decade in Philly. Yeah, he was quite possibly the worst kicker/football player/human of all-time. Cody Parkey came in as a rookie and rightfully kicked Henery right out of the league (after a quick stinky stint in Detroit). In fact, Cody Parkey in 2014 set the NFL rookie scoring record and SHATTERED the Eagles single season scoring record. Not too shabby for an undrafted rookie out of Auburn.
Alas, Cody shredded his groin and hasn’t been the same since. He was let go by the Birds in 2016 for Caleb Sturgis (remember him, too?) and now stinks out loud for the Bears. Like, BAD. Nothing against the kid, he just sucks at his livelihood. Just look at him hit the goal posts 4-TIMES in a single game this year:
Realistically, hitting the uprights quad-x in a game is actually more impressive than shooting that shit right down the middle. Also, Chicago still won that game, but still. Stuff like this is not easy for Bears fans to stomach. The kicking game is easily the biggest liability on the Soldier Field. Offense is steady with a solid young QB. Defense is GREAT. Kicking is what may indeed cost the Bears the game. And to that, we say Victory Beefs for all. Unless of course Matt Nagy wises up and brings on a new kicker off the streets…
