Skip Bayless, Cowboys Fan And Professional Wrong Take Haver, Says The Eagles Should Trade Carson Wentz
Skip Bayless gets paid to be wrong and he’s the best in the biz at it. I mean there’s nobody in the world with a functioning brain who could possibly be on the wrong side of an argument more often than Skip is. If there were a Hall of Fame for being wrong, Skip Bayless would be a first-ballot Hall of Famer and they’d have a statue built for him at the entrance. Hell, they might even name the whole damn thing after him. So when Skip Bayless says he’d keep Foles and trade Wentz, I know that argument is not rooted in reality but rather it comes from fear and fear alone. Fear that the Eagles the most clutch quarterback in NFL history as well as one of the best young quarterbacks in the world who will continue to dominate the league for another decade. And as a Cowboys fan, that has broken Skip Bayless’ already fragmented brain.
Now as far as the “keep Foles, trade Wentz” argument goes, there’s definitely some stock to it. Nick Foles has proven himself as a champion in this league and that’s incredibly hard to do. He will forever be a hero to this city. There is literally nothing to not love about Nick Foles. When the moment is the biggest, that’s when Nick Foles is his best. And we’ll see how the rest of this season turns out. I mean if Nick Foles manages to be a back-to-back Super Bowl Champion, you simply cannot trade away a guy like that. But that doesn’t change the fact that Carson Wentz is still the future. And you don’t trade away the future either. He has shown signs of being an MVP-caliber quarterback. Sure, he’s had a little bit of bad luck with injuries but show me one professional athlete who has never gotten hurt before.
Bottom line: Both quarterbacks are great and they’re great for different reasons. Both quarterbacks are loved in this city and they’re loved for different reasons. You can be the biggest Nick Foles supporter in the world while simultaneously being the biggest Carson Wentz supporter in the world. Personally I would go with the younger quarterback when you’re banking on the future of of the franchise, and I’m sure the Eagles are thinking that as well. But there is only one QB in the world who I would consider having over Nick Foles, and it’s fortunately unfortunate that that QB just so happens to already be on the Eagles. But Brady? Brees? Rodgers? They’re all great but I take Nick Foles over them any day of the week.
