The Flyers And Gritty Are In Absolutely No Position To Be Making Fun Of Cody Parkey. That's Where The Line Is Drawn
I saw this video last night and I just truly couldn’t believe it. Don’t get me wrong–I’m all for doing a little grave dancing even though in reality, we should all be celebrating a Treyvon Hester blocked kick rather than making fun of Cody Parkey for the double doink. But it’s still fun to point and laugh at others. It’s one of the best things in the world when you can have some laughs at others’ expense.
But the Philadelphia Flyers are one of the biggest jokes in professional sports right now. They have lost 7 games in a row right now and haven’t won a game since before Christmas. The team has essentially given up. They are impossibly frustrating to watch and they’re at the point now where nobody even cares about them anymore. And Gritty? He’s just as big a problem as the rest of them. Gritty’s sole purpose is to try to distract the fans from how goddamn terrible this team is. He was an executive decision made to distract the fans rather than fix the team. Gritty is everything that is wrong with the 2018-19 Philadelphia Flyers.
So the Flyers suck. Gritty sucks. And you know what? This is the type of shit that creates a disturbance within the Sports Force. The PECO Building was one thing. But when you have a mascot of a team who has lost their last 7 games in a row making fun of a kicker for missing a field goal because the ball was tipped? The Sports Gods take notice of that. And if the Eagles end up losing on Sunday to New Orleans, all the blame needs to be directed straight towards the Flyers and Gritty. Because that will 100% be on them.
