Holy shit, Matt Williams! Most of you are too young to remember Matt Williams as a slugger with the Giants, Indians, and Diamondbacks, and instead you only know him as the manager who floundered out with the Nationals. If you fall into that category than you didn't know that Williams used to drop bombs. This is honestly one of the farthest balls I've ever seen hit, and I did not expect Matt Williams to be blasting dongs like this. He cleared every seat in left field and bounced it up on the concourse. You don't stand up there expecting to get a ball.
I knew he was a good player, 5-time All Star, 4-time Gold Glove Winner, World Series Champion, and 4-time Silver Slugger is nothing to ignore. 378 home runs isn't too bad either. He cosnsitently hit for power throughout his career, I just didn't really know that he had power like this. And no, I don't care that he hit this is Colorado, that ball was pissed on no matter where it was hit. I mean it had to have been hit at least 480, maybe closer to 500 feet.
How about the announcer, too? As soon as he touches the ball he goes "that ball is gone." So calm, so collected, he just let his natural reaction take over for that one.
