Jess Lockwood Wins Buck Off At The Garden As PBR Heads To Chicago This Weekend
Here’s my PBR Three big things:
Jess Lockwood Returns To Form, Wins Buck Off At The Garden
Have a damn day Jess Lockwood. I bet the people who were questioning him are feeling pretty stupid now. Lockwood dominated the Buck off at the Garden going 5 for 5 on the weekend to win the event’s prize of $118,350. He finished with an insane 977.5 points to really let everybody know that he’s back. What a great feeling this must have been for Lockwood after his injury riddled 2018. This sets the tone for 2019 in a big way.
Valdiron de Oliveira Calls It A Career For Good This Time
There were murmurs of this after last year’s World Finals, and we knew that it was only a matter of time considering that he had a brief retirement stint at the end of the 2016 season, but this seems like it’s really it for him. I’ll remember de Oliveira as a strong cowboy who I always enjoyed watching when he took the chute. It sucks that he was always riddled with injuries as he had such a hot start to his career, but that’s bull riding. I wish de Oliveira well in his retirement!
Reigning Champion Kaique Pacheco Will Not Ride At Chicago Invitational
Pacheco is still battling a knee injury so it sounds like the start of his season will continue to be delayed. As a fan it sucks that we’ll miss out on viewing the world champion live, but Pacheco is smart and playing the long game here. No reason to rush yourself when you’ve got a title to defend so I don’t blame him. Selfishly, I wish I was going to get to see him ride live after missing J.B. Mauney at the Chicago Invitational last year, but that’s bull riding. We’ll just have to wait to see him next year. There’s still plenty of good riders to watch at the Allstate Arena this weekend and I encourage everybody to go check it out if you’ve never been to one.
Chicago Invitational Predictions:
Rider – Jess Lockwood because I’m sure as hell not picking against him after what he did last weekend.
Bull – Prayer Warrior
