Does This Look Like The Face Of A 75-Year-Old Guy Who Was Selling Pounds Of Weed Outta His House Every Day?
FLORAL CITY, Fla. — A 75-year-old man in Citrus County was arrested on Tuesday for possessing and selling marijuana, deputies say. Detectives say William Carlton Sr. was selling pounds of the illegal drug on a daily basis. During a search of Carlton’s property deputies found more than two and a half pounds of marijuana, over $25,000 in cash and 20-gauge shotgun ammunition. Carlton was arrested and charged for possession of cannabis with the intent to distribute, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of paraphernalia. “Not only was William Carlton Sr. a convicted felon in violation of the law by possessing firearm ammunition, but he was an even greater threat to our community from his illegal drugs activity,” Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast said.
Ya know, sometimes the 401(k) doesn’t work out. Sometimes it bottoms out and next thing you know you’re on the wrong side of 70 with no money in the bank. Sometimes you gotta pivot from the stock market and move into the drug selling business. Walter White did a similar thing despite being a lot young than William Carlton Sr. Both guys were (or thought they were) knocking on death’s door and needed to make a shit load of cash so they started selling drugs. It happens. How great would it be to have your weed dealer be a friendly old man? He probably gives a couple Werther’s originals with every deal. Probably has a handkerchief you can blow your nose into.
I appreciate that William stuck with selling just weed and nothing else. The move up to selling cocaine is a dangerous one. I can’t exactly remember the line from the classic drug movie Blow but at one point Boston George talks about how you can sell weed with a handshake but you have to bring a gun to a cocaine deal. This old dude didn’t want that trouble. Yeah he had a 20-gauge shotgun but that was just to show people he means business. Even with a shotgun by his side, a 75-year-old man selling cocaine is getting robbed 20 times a day. By the way, is this the story that new Clint Eastwood movie is based off of? The Mule? Sure sounds a lot like it. If not, Clint has already signed up to play this guy. He’s directing too so don’t ask.
