Some Broad Is Gonna Compete In The Combine
FanSided – History is about to be made as the first female athlete in the history of the NFL is going to be participating in the regional scouting combine at the beginning of March. Lauren Silberman will be kicking for scouts beginning March 2nd in New Jersey and she will have a chance to earn a trip to the super-regionals in Dallas later in the month. “I was not aware that I was the first female registrant,” Silberman told NFL.com. ”I was actually hoping that the 2012 historical milestone rule, to allow women to play, would prompt more women to attend tryouts this year. But for me, what’s important is to finally have a chance to fulfill my dreams by trying out to play in the world’s most competitive football league.” The success of Greg Zuerlein has many believing that if she actually has what it takes she might be able to make it to the final combine which is being held again this year in Indianapolis. Zuerlein was a guy who nobody had on their draft boards but the Rams were so impressed that they gave him a shot and ended up being the leaders of the new kicking revolution in the NFL. But right now Silberman isn’t concerned with politics or being a pioneer, she just wants to play football or at the very least take her best shot at proving she can. “The opportunity to attend this event could not be more exciting. Getting to meet interesting people and perfect my technique from others could not be more rewarding. … Regardless of the outcome of the tryout, I hope there is a way I can contribute and strengthen the league,” Silberman said.
Hey babe how fast can you make a sandwich? How much laundry can you fold? How many repetitions can you do at the ironing board? Those are the only tests that matter for your future, toots! Only thing that might possibly overlap is your vertical leap so that your husband will know you can reach the pots and pans on the top shelves of the kitchen.
Its a slippery slope we’re on folks. First Kathy Ireland kicks for TSU in Necessary Roughness. Then that smokestack who tried out for LSU. Now you got a woman in the Combine. If we keep up on this path, who will make the sandwiches? Oh great everyone is playing NFL football now, walking around starving and wearing wrinkled clothes since nobody is at home doing chores. The NFL and maybe the entire country as we know it will implode if we allow this to continue.
