Ohhhhhh so that’s what cultural appropriation feels like. Okay. Now I get it.
Middle aged white dudes have been busting out the air guitar for centuries. I don’t think that anybody besides them necessarily thought it was a “cool” move. If you were strumming on an air guitar without being a dad, more often than not it was probably in an ironic fashion. But now all of a sudden, the air guitar is the hottest move to break out in a basketball bench mob celebration. These kids can’t get enough of this shit. I’m pretty sure Minnesota ended up putting on an entire concert in that opening game yesterday.

With how aggressively wet they were from 3, it seemed like the camera was cutting away to a different guitar solo every other minute. It’s just crazy to see the comeback that the Air Guitar has had here over the last few months. And I think I speak on behalf of everybody who can’t actually dance when I say thank you to Lance Stephenson for bringing it back. Gonna be a huuuuuge summer for all the dads out there who can finally kick it with the hip kids and keep up with the hottest craze in the streets.
