This South African Sprinter Is Being Forced To Take Anti Steroids Because She Wins By Too Much

Another tough day for the Olympic Track & Field crowd. Yesterday it was Usain Bolt’s 100m record coming under fire from some pimply faced high school kid out of Texas. Today it’s international sensation and 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist, Caster Semenya on the chopping block and it’s BIZARRE:

SKY News – The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) believes female runners with high testosterone levels have an unfair advantage in events from 400m to the mile.

Judges ruled Wednesday that “on basis of the evidence submitted by the parties, such discrimination is a necessary, reasonable and proportionate means of achieving the IAAF’s aim of preserving the integrity of female athletics in the restricted events”.

So basically it’s against the rules to have high levels of testosterone if you’re a “female runner” as defined by the IAAF, but only for the 400m, 800m and mile. And the reason we care is because we want to preserve integrity. Sound familiar?

So you’re next question is probably How do you preserve integrity when regulating natural testosterone levels?

Fair question.

Answer:

She will now be forced to medicate to suppress her testosterone levels if she wants to defend her world title in September in Doha, Qatar.

“Medicate to suppress testosterone” is not something you usually associate with professional athletes and that’s because its a pretty fucked up concept. They’re basically making her take anti-steroids to stay on the track. It’s like communist Russia meets the pussification of America meets the International Association of Athletics Federations, which is obviously a front for a James Bond villain but that’s a different blog.

Point is I can’t imagine MLB making Mike Trout eat kryptonite to level the playing field because if you’re going to have a conversation about naturally unfair advantages amongst professional athletes, the conversation begins and ends with Mike Trout.
