Okay, so the final episode of ‘VEEP’ aired last night, and while everyone was arguing about ‘Game of Thrones’, the political comedy managed to stick the landing in the series finale. It’s very hard to satisfy people with a final episode, but they managed to do it with ease. They wrapped up a ton of storylines, dropped dozens of callbacks to old jokes and characters and ended the series with a joke paid off from all the way back in the series first episode.

This was the setup from Season 1, Episode 1…

Brilliant. Hilarious. Simple. Effective. Just love to see a show tie everything up perfectly, even early references and jokes.

The show managed to keep it together, without any hiccups, for seven seasons. That’s remarkable, especially in a time where political satire and comedy is aggressively played out and not very funny (shout out to Alec Baldwins awful Donald Trump impression on SNL… shit is not funny and it stinks).

All hail ‘VEEP’! We are sad to see you go.

BONUS: The show’s best character was Richard Splett, in my opinion. Here are some highlights…
