A Condom Company Is Now Making Sure That Even Your Social Media Feed Doesn't Have Kids With Their New Baby Blocker
Science Times – The condom firm Skyn launched a “baby blocker” to prevent you from seeing adorable pictures of newborns and toddlers on your social media feed. The Chrome plugin will sense images posted on your Facebook account that contain babies automatically, it will then replace the cute images with a different image.
In a press release of Skyn, the sexual wellness company, said that the high-profile recent birth could lead to an increase in the number of baby pictures that are posted on social media. The company is referring to the birth of Harry and Meghan’s baby boy Archie Harrison. ‘Everyone shares in the joy of the arrival of a famous baby and relish seeing the images released across social channels,’ said Jeyan Heper, CEO of LifeStyles, the company behind Skyn.
I don’t think anybody necessarily feels great about saying this but the fact of the matter is that there are just too many damn babies out there that you don’t care about. Not that they’re necessarily bad babies or anything like that. But you just can’t physically care about all the babies that are clogging up your social media feeds. Back in the day, people at least had to ask if you wanted to see pictures of their kids. And typically you would reluctantly say sure because you didn’t want to be super rude (i.e. truthful) and say, “nah, I don’t give a fuck about your dumbass kids”. But at least the person had to ask in the first place before they whipped out their wallet and took the 20 photos out of their kids. I also can’t believe that people used to just carry around pictures in their wallet but that’s neither here nor there.
Anyway, that’s not the case anymore these days. People no longer ask if you want to see a picture of their baby. They just spam it all over on social media with zero regard or remorse. Now if it’s your brother or your sister’s baby? You probably love that little son of a bitch. If it’s the baby of one of your friends? You probably love that little son of a bitch. But if it’s just some random jackass who you are friends with on Facebook despite the fact that you may have only spoken 3 total words to that person before in your life? Well maybe you don’t need to be updated every time the baby turns another week old. Nobody needs to know that your baby is 32 weeks old.
Now obviously you could always just unfollow that person on social media. But you don’t want to feel like a bad person, you just want these jackasses to stop updating the world every time its a new week and their child is still alive. And that’s where Skyn comes in to the rescue. Because now you don’t need to unfollow that person. Now all you have to do is just install Baby Blocker and all of those baby photos will be gone from your feed. No more babies laying down on calendar blankets for you. You just get to scroll through your feed without having to hate random tiny little babies. It’s essentially just a social media condom, which is something that I think we could all benefit from.
