We Need To Talk About The Jerk Off Discussion From Last Night's Silicon Valley And Just How Funny It Was
Are people watching Silicon Valley? Because they should be. It comes on right after Game of Thrones on HBO so it’s a good way to come down from people getting their heads chopped off and their brains bashed in every week. I started watching it because it’s from the guy who directed Office Space I’m a fan of TJ Miller and Kumail Nanjiani and I figured I’d give it a shot. Turns out it’s a super funny show and the cast is super likable which pretty much makes the entire show. It’s one of those shows where you can just turn your brain off and enjoy it. No deep thinking or brain power involved. Unlike Game of Thrones, where if somebody asked me to explain to them what is currently going on in that show I wouldn’t be able to explain it to them without blocking out 6 hours and using 5 1/2 hours of that to have someone else tell me what’s going on and then relaying that information.
Anyway, last night’s episode was the season finale and it was particularly good. Mostly because of the greatest scene in the show’s short history seen above that involved the guys talking about how fast it would take Erlich to jerk off the 800 male patrons at the tech convention. It was one of the funnier things I’ve seen in awhile. They turned a throw away moment where Erlich said he’d jerk off all the dudes in the crowd in order to win the competition into a full fledged scene with white boards full of dick equations and words like “mean jerk time” and “dick to floor” and “orgasm threshold”. I watched the scene no less than 15 times and giggled uncontrollably each time.
Funniest quote of the whole thing: “T2O has to be the same for each matching pair of dicks, otherwise I’m wasting a lot of great strokes on a guy that’s already busted.”
Gold. Pure gold. There’s only been one season so you should probably just fire up your HBO GO some Saturday and bang out all the episodes. I can’t wait for season 2.
PS- It absolutely SUCKS that the dude playing Peter Gregory died. I don’t know how they’re going to work around that since he was a pretty big part of the main storyline.
