Who Makes An NBA Roster First, Melo Or His Son?

That may sound like a silly question, but considering Melo is essentially blackballed from the NBA I’m going to have to ride with his son. Pretty cool to see Melo putting in the time to make sure his kid’s offensive arsenal is just as loaded as his was. This is Kiyan Anthony, who is 12 years old and frankly is already a billion times better at basketball than the majority of the people reading this blog. Not only that, he’s definitely better than all of us were when we were 12. Something tells me genetics plays a part in that of course, but there’s also something to be said about these kids getting to work with legit NBA trainers. That seems a little different than for example biddy basketball every weekend at your local JCC. Something tells me one leads to you being a blogger and the other leads to securing the bag to go to a D1 blue blood and then ultimately the league.

In today’s day and age there’s a lot of hype around the kids of NBA superstars, like Bronny James and Zaire Wade. That’s obviously nothing new.

It’s pretty crazy to see these athletes we grew up watching now have kids that are only a handful of years away from making the NBA and it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing similar hype around Melo’s kid. Listen you can hate him if you want, think he’s washed up and doesn’t deserve to be in the league, but there’s no denying Melo was one of the greatest individual scorers the NBA has ever seen. If we’re working on scoring, there aren’t too many other guys I would want to learn from. The dude was pretty much unguardable in his prime. Watching those short clips and remembering this dude is TWELVE, he looks like he’s on a similar path.

While we’re on the subject, I also saw this video pop up on my TL of Jamal Crawford’s young son who has to be like 9 years old or some shit just absolutely destroy people

I mean that’s Jamal Crawford. I’d recognize those handles anywhere

Somewhere you know Sam Presti is already filling out his draft board with these kids since he’s the one GM who owns like 50 future first round picks. The Thunder are going to be nice in 2030 mark my words.
