Post Malone "Hollywood's Bleeding" Live Listen Song By Song Gut Reaction Grade
1. Hollywood’s Bleeding: A+.
2. Saint-Tropez: A.
3. Enemies ft. DaBaby: B.
4. Allergic: C-. Respect the switch-up but not my style.
5. A Thousand Bad Times: C-
6. Circles: C-. F the first time I heard it. Growing on me.
7. Die For Me ft. Future & Halsey: A+.
8. On The Road ft. Meek and Lil Baby: A+++.
9. Take What You Want ft. Ozzy Osbourne (!!) and Travis Scott: A+. The amount of drugs that were in this room when it was recorded…my goodness.
10. Im Gonna Be: A-.
11. Staring At The Sun ft. SZA: B.
12. Sunflower: N/A. I hate when they put soundtrack songs on their personal albums. (100% a label decision not a Post decision.) This is a Spider Man song. Completely separate from this project. Yeah it’s a chill song on the summer playlists. It doesn’t fit on here.
13. Internet: B+. Would have been an A if I didn’t have a leak of “Fuck The Internet” by Post Malone featuring Kanye West in my iTunes for the past 5 months thanks to Jetski. Big disappointment he didn’t end up on the final version.
14. Goodbyes feat. Young Thug: C-. This was also on the Jetski leak list. Didn’t like it the first time I heard it and not much has changed. Collab with so much potential ended up feeling like a mailed-in generic algorithm track. Probably a C+ song but lost points for breaking my heart with disappointment.
15. Myself: B-. Got distracted by a Twitter bully for this one so I broke the rules and re-listened. Just meh.
16. I Know: B.
17. Wow. A-. Learned all the words to this one when it came out. Rap it in the shower. Such a bop. Needed another minute on it or at least another verse. Felt like an unfinished track. But a bop.
FINAL FIRST LIVE LISTEN GUT REACTION GRADE: B+/A-. 89/100. 8.2 and Best New Music on the Pitchfork Scale (they’re going to give this a 4.1, watch. They hate fun. If more than 45 people outside of a garage in Williamsburg or Wicker Park have heard of the artist or if you’re not named “Radiohead” it’s an automatic <5.0.)
Big statement made by Posty.
